The team had a let down tonight. I'm sad for the coaches and players
Great fan support tonight! It took me nearly 25 minutes to get into my seats. Very disapointing effort tonight. Our defense looks much better but we need to stop all the turnovers.

I am sad for neither the coaches nor the players. I'm sad for the fans.

We deserved better.

BG never seemed to be in this. Did they believe their press clippings?

I mean, I talk people I teach with at BG into coming to a game and this is what we get?

And it taks two hours to get out of the parking lot?

Remind me again why GB makes five times more than your average professor?

That was no fun at all. Wake me up when we're down a hundred in the bowl game.

Football coaches work five times as many hours a week as professors!!!

Turnovers and overall special teams play were the differences tonight IMO. We had five turnovers to none for Minnesota. That's ballgame right there. Great showing, the place was just packed and the crowd was loud at times. Man do I wish all our games had that kind of turnout. I jut hope tonight's outcome doesn't keep most of them from coming back. I also hope this week in practice we stress the importance of holding onto the ball! The turnovers simply killed us!!! The game was there for the taking and then we lost the ball and gave them short drives for TDs. Boise State's the best team on our schedule IMO and they've won like 44 consecutive regular season home games. If we can split against Boise & Wyoming and take care of things in the MAC, this loss will be easier to forget about.

Unfortunately, this is probably the last time this season you'll see the stadium look how it did today. I'll still go, but a lot of others won't.

By the way...seat cushions...BAD idea.

Well.... I would say the title of this thread sums it up. It seems that Brandon has figured out how to be an underdog, but once his team gets some attention it seems like they can never refocus after an upset. Clearly, CB should have his job back and I say that not only because of the fumbling of Geter, but he provides two things this team lacks. He provide a little POWER something we rarely see and he provides character considering he has never complained about losing his job after his freshman year he has simply continued to work. He deserve to be the starter.

Also I have a hard time believing that there is any reason AT should not touch the ball 15 times a game, the kid might not have a position but when he gets the ball the offense moves. Lastly special teams needs lot of work. That being said if you told me we would be 2-2 out of conference I would be thrilled (Although the MAC seems a bit tougher after watching OU and NIU, and Buffalo play).2-2 should be the goal and if we can pull a miracle at BSU this board will have a totally different feel than it does today...


PS. Professor Jackson loved ya as a professor, but your lecture on Canadian government isn't drawing 30,000 people.

Well that's because the lecture was about CANADA. You start talking about Azerbaijan and people will come out in droves.

Yep they laid an egg last night, it was frustrating considering we had a jam packed Doyt. This team bought into it's own hype, plain and simple. Oh well, maybe this team needed a wake-up call. If they can go out and upset Boise and get Wyoming people will be packing the Doyt again.

I know my lectures don't draw 30,000. The football team almost never does either, and didn't yesterday.

Anyhoo, I know this argument is old, old, old. And last night was so not fun, fun, fun...

I was disappointed by the disappearance of the creativity that we saw last game. Lining AT up at QB for an entire drive and running the same play every time is foolish. Then the one time we needed that play (3rd & 1 on our 30 or so) we try a 10 yard pass? That play absolutely killed our drive and any momentum we had.

All in all, though, it was nice to see a packed stadium and a huge student section. Now they just need to learn how to have a little class.

Uhhh were we watching the same game...AT didnt lose any yards running this game from QB in SHOTGUN...his first two catches went for first downs even though the pass was a couple of yards.

The problem is we never go verticle, and the defense just plays the short passes. On top of that couldnt get the run game involved.

I don't intend to ever really argue with you about anything dealing with AT. If you were running the O, AT would line up at QB every play, fend off pass rushers while looking for a receiver, throw the ball to himself and be his own lead blocker.

I'm not saying AT is a bad player. I'm not saying it's bad to have him run. I'm saying nobody's fooled by the formation where AT lines up in shotgun and Sheehan lines up at receiver if we run it for an entire series. They know he's not going to throw anything of substance. Hell, they rarely even mixed up the running plays with him in there.

I understand your point but my question is when you have a playmaker why not have him on the field? It doesnt matter where he lines up or what play you run. I like having all your weapons on the field particularly when your losing. Even Freddie and Cory didnt get that many touches in the 2nd half. Maybe i should just give the gophers some credit for shuting BG down...naw that aint my style, you got to have your best options on the field.

I dont know why they didnt put Turner on the field more, and run Bullock more often as well.

The offensive plan was confusing--esp after Gophers made adjustments. BG had 200 some passing yards in the first half and only 60 in the second half (after Gophers went to 3-4)

I would have pounded the ball and run that QB run-sweep play.

Also surprised I didnt see the TE drag route you used against Pitt. Love that play, because Gophers ran that to death with Matt Spaeth

I'm all for having AT and Freddie Barnes on the field. What I would prefer to see, however, is a formation where the defense isn't dead sure where the ball is going. Line up Sheehan at QB with Bullock and Turner/Freddie in the backfield. That way they still have to worry about a pass, but at the same time we have two very capable running backs in play. Hell, line AT up at QB and throw in a toss back pass like we ran a few times last season (ie: at Buffalo) where Turner tosses it to Sheehan coming across and he throws it downfield.

I'm no football coach, but I just don't see the logic in running the same running play every down on a drive.
