Injury to Dozier?

It didn't look good at all, did GB say anything following the game? News about Turner's injury in another thread sounds very concerning too. Barnes came back twice after taking shots on that shoulder and you know he's banged up as well. This game really took a toll on us. I guess we can only cross our fingers and hope there's nothing more than a bye next week won't help heal because these three are obviously huge parts to the team.

I saw Dozier after the game - he looked pretty mad and didn't want to talk.
He went to the hospital and got checked out - its a sprain, shouldn't be too bad. He's much better off than AT.

The whole team looked pretty beat up - they looked very sore at the end of the game. Bummer ... they got physically beat up.

Thanks for the info. That would be great news for Dozier if it's just a sprain. Hopefully he'll be back in a few weeks.

From Ryan's Blog (it looks like we won't know more until the team gets home and looked at):

Imagine that before today I had asked you to write down the names of seven BG players you’d least like to see injured. Wouldn’t Anthony Turner, Freddie Barnes and Erique Dozier be somewhere on that list? Ouch. Coach Brandon didn’t know the severity of the injuries following tonight’s 20-7 loss at Boise State. It’s a shoulder problem for Turner and Barnes, and I’m not sure what’s wrong with Dozier. During warm-ups I noticed Barnes wearing a sling, so it would seem that this is not a new injury. Is that good news or bad news? I could make an argument either way. Dozier was helped off of the field at least five minutes after the game. It did not look good at all.

Anybody else think its a little unseemly to make a list of players you'd least like to see injured? Wouldn't (shouldn't?) that be ALL of them? And Barnes has a sling on his arm before the game and plays?

Possibly, but I think we all understand the point he was making. Further, aside from key guys like Turner, Barnes and Dozier going down, I remember seeing Waldron and Rice shaken up too. We really took some hits to our players out there.

Barnes was wearing a brace... not a sling...

Barnes always wears a brace, he injured his shoulder last year I believe and just wears it to protect it. And yes, Doziers injury is just a sprain, nothing broke, but not sure of the severity of the sprain. AT's could be a little worse. But I would expect to see Barnes and Dozier out there next game. If anyone can tolerate pain, its Dozier.

BullDozier is an animal. He'll be back ready to rip heads sooner than later.

You're right about that, Dozier was in my legal studies class last semester, and the guy's an animal. He came in to class one day with a gash the size of a fist on his arm, yet he said it was no big deal. The man can take a hit, and dish it out.

(I should also point out that he, along with bg volleyballer Stephanie Swiger, were some of the smartest kids in that class)
