BGSU Recruiting Dilemma

Post by buffaloefalcon »

I had another huge defensive argument for my boyz in Orange and why such a great program as our are so bad at times. If you compare our team to other BCS Buster Teams, we differ in one major area and that is LOCATION, LOCATION, and LOCATION. We've got to compete with Michigan, OSU, Purdue, Pitt, PSU, MSU...We're surrounded by top notch programs, while your Utah, Boise, ECU (Scratch TCU, they just recruit well) to name only a few are great distances from Big Major programs that surround us. It's ultra hard to get top notch talent from Ohio to attend a smaller program when big players like OSU grab em'. Any other thoughts on this. I'm just mad...psycho-analysis helps to calm me.

I do not think you are far off the truth. BG's only chance to ever crack the BCS is to have a year where they have a few players slip through to them. Till then lets just aim for the MAC.

On a side note when did GB start coaching the Browns. They are the completely undisciplined, and wow does DA look bad.

A dilemma is usually defined as a problem that presents two solutions...neither of which is all that appealing. How is "our geography makes it hard to recruit here because there's so many big schools nearby" a dilemma?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
