Bowling Green man robbed during home invasion
ASSOCIATED PRESS
BOWLING GREEN – A Bowling Green man said he was assaulted and robbed early Wednesday by three masked intruders who broke into his Fairview Avenue apartment.
Robert J. Matejka, 21, told police he was asleep about 3:45 a.m. when three men wearing masks and dark clothing awakened him in his bedroom. One of the intruders put his hand over Mr. Matejka’s mouth and said he had a knife, while another of the masked men said he had a gun.
Mr. Matejka told police the intruders demanded money and drugs, ransacked his room, and stole his Blackberry cell phone, his wallet containing cash and credit cards, and a desktop computer.
According to a police report, Mr. Matejka did not seen any weapons but was struck several times in the head as he was held down on his bed. He was treated at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR

Yeah, hopefully this is a totally separate incident involving like soccer players or something. I'm kidding, I hope it has nothing to do with student athletes as football has taken enough beating for the entire sports program. I would say I hope it wasn't University Students, but something stupid like this probably was students.

inside sources tell me it could be vigilante curling team members. I hope to God that no Falcon athletes are involved.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let this have nothing to do with the team. It can't even be possible after everything that has happened already this season, right?????

You know, up until this year, you hear this story and say, man it sucks to be that guy, that's really crappy, I hope they catch him. Now, we are saying, man, I hope its not football players who did it.
Does that say what state of mind we have after everything bad that has happened this offseason? Something horrible happens and our first thought is that it could possibly be somebody on the football team? Even with absolutely no evidence of who it could or could not be ... very sad.
And I'm sure it was nobody on the team. Just crappy BG townfolk.

Good point, and I agree, sadly, it is what first comes to mind for many of us after this past offseason. I'm just convincing myself that there's no way it can be related and hoping I am right. Either way though, it's sad to hear something like this happening in Bowling Green, period.

I have heard some things that are very disturbing about this case. More to come soon, we will not be happy.
