Just back from watching the game....

Now THAT is BG football. The D looked great, the O cranked it up and we got a BiG win. The penalties were a pain but other than that, great effort on the road. Downed a few beers and had a mushroom swiss burger watching BG roll.

Now the real season begins....

WIN THE EAST
GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!

Nice win and strong finish to the OOC sked. Shoulda been 3-1, coulda been 4-0, but 2-2 with a road win is a good set up for the MAC. As Freak said, the season really begins now!

Win the East! Win the MACC! Win a bowl!

3-1 would be great but 2-2 with this non conf sked is fine with me.

ROLL ALONG!!!

And a little bonus - Central held on to beat Buffalo, Ball State beat Kent, and Western beat Temple. It's never too early to start rooting against the other MAC East schools.

It sounded like the offense made an effort to get the ball down the field this afternoon. Partridge broke the long one on a short screen pass, but I think Geter, Partridge, and Parks all had long catches on intermediate to deep routes. The 4 sacks against Tyler isn't good, but that was supposedly a tough front 7. It was good to see Vrvilo nail a long FG as well. Defense - simply an incredible turnaround from the past several years. They have given us a chance to win each of the 4 non-conference games. Overall, a great way to head into MAC play starting next weekend.

4 weeks between home games is waaaaaay too long.

AP story says Buffalo clanged the winning FG off an upright as time expired. Ouch.

Awesome win. Didn't get to watch it, but it sounds like we played a hell of a game. 2-2 against that schedule is pretty good. I can't wait to get to BG for Saturday's game. I haven't been to the Doyt since the Spring game. :-D

I could only watch with no sound. All audio went to PU@ND. It was the first time I've seen BG on TV other than "vs. Tuledo" in a long time.
We were excellent on D as we have been all season, and finally..we got some friendly turnovers. It almost seemed like we had a ground game at some pints during the game.
It does seem that Wyoming's offense was completely out of sinc', ie. stone hands a plenty.

Man, you said it. This has been tough going 3-4 weeks without getting to a game. It was good for BG to see UB, Temple and KSU go down. And then UT lost to FIU at home??? Not a bad day for college ball. :-D

Bring on EMU....tee it up and let's win a MAC East title....and then...

Freak, I absolutely agree. To have to go 4 weeks between home games, that's just cruel and unusual punishment. But when you only have 5 home games a season, it's hard to space them out in such a way to avoid that. Luckily we will have 6 home games in 2009 and 2011, so maybe we won't have to deal with a 4-week withdrawl again for some time.

And yes, the MAC really broke our direction today. EMU, we should smack the crap out of them next week.

Careful about counting wins before they are won. Just ask UT.

24,

No doubt. But I can usually get to most of the away games as well. Boise State and Wyoming were just too far at this time. Gotta save for a MAC title game and bowl. :D We needed another home game this month but that's how it goes.

Now EMU, then @Akron, which is a 10 min drive for us. Miami at home...I got one of the last rooms in town (forgot it was parent's weekend) and Josh and I will be heading up that Friday night so we can get to Perry nice and early on 10/18.

Only have to miss one more game...at NIU. Hopefully, we'll have a great crowd for Homecoming. Early forecast for next Sat is Sunnty and 69...PERFECT>

GO FALCONS!

I'll definitely be there next weekend for EMU, and I'll try to make Akron as well, but that'll be all for me. Anybody in BG whining about having only 5 home games can bite me.

I don't recall anyone said anything about counting wins before they are won....road games @Akron, NIU, OH and UT will all be tough. Buffalo is a handful at home and we all know our history with Miami....home or away.

It was a great effort today and when this team plays like that, we're very difficult to beat. But I don't think anyone is counting wins before they happen around here. Just enjoying the evening, thank you.

Looks like things have turned around at NIU. They shutdown Eastern completely.

It's nice to see our turnover ratio change. We went into this game -4 and came out even. Let's keep it goin'!
