Some of the Wyoming Students Are Classless

OK, so let me tell my gameday experience. I went up to the game with some of my friends that are Wyoming alumni. Of course, I was all decked out in orange and brown. They wanted to sit near the student section, which was fine with me. So there I am, the only orange hat in a sea of ugly yellow. After the Cody Basler touchdown, I start hearing the chants directed toward ME:
"Who's this douchebag?"
"B-G F*ggot"
OK, they are pissed, and I am the only BG person around. I can take the verbal abuse. Heck, I go to Colorado Avalanche games in my Calgary Flames stuff all the time. BUT WHEN YOU START CHUCKING PENNIES AND QUARTERS AT MY HEAD BECAUSE YOUR TEAM IS LOSING - I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT. Completely classless. My Wyoming friends were embarrassed .
So, needless to say, we had to move somewhere else, and you know the rest - we proceeded to kick their ass which made me feel a lot better.
Couple of other thoughts on the students - the cops had to come in there and escort some of them out. Also, they actually got into it with their players. They were chanting "Joe Must Go", and the players looked back at them and told them to STFU! I thought that was hilarious.
Now, I'm not saying all of them are losers - just some of them.

If any of the coins hit you, you should have pointed the thrower out to their head coach. He could have used another QB.
It's a shame that student sections seem to repeatedly tarnish the reputation of an otherwise decent fanbase. I've heard a couple very nice comments about the fans in general in Wyoming, but students have a way of effing that up in a hurry.

It was penny give-away night? Cool.
All schools have these idiots - BG too. Sorry you had a bad experience, but it's the world we live in sad to say.

That's high quality humor.

How much pocket change did you make? Just kidding. The best part had to be leaving after the win. Not much they could say.

Rather shocking/alarming, considering the infamous manner in which Laramie is noted across the country, their choice of comment for their verbal abuse.

I seem to recall more than a few in the BGSU student section at the Minnesota game throwing those seat cushions around. Not much difference in my opinion. At least the coins have some value. Pick them up--you can always donate to the bail out Wall Street Fund.

Buy a Little Caesar's pizza. Mike Ilitch could use the money. $138 million payroll for the last place Tigers... Stock in Bear Stearns would have been a better bet

Man, sorry to hear that but every school has them. Like Manager said, look how some of our students behaved at the MN game....it was no different.
Like I've said before, if you really crave abuse, attend a game at CMU. They make the Hell's Angels look like choir boys.

No offense freak, but I know a couple of Hell's Angels. NOBODY makes them look like choirboys.

Sad, very sad. But RUIT is right, there are those types of fans everywhere, even good ol' BG.
There will always be a mix of good and bad. I've been to two BG @ Temple games and the fans were always cordial. No problems with fans from N'western, Memphis & Tulsa at the recent bowl games, either.

sounds like every stadium. I'm amazed at visiting fans who sit in student sections and then complain about their fans.

Swearing in NOT acceptable. It makes you look just plain ignorant.
