Microphone on the field

Why was Akron allowed to have a guy in between plays come onto the field with a microphone and incite the crowd to cheer. Can we do that? Might help to educate our home crowd on when and how to cheer.

Was he the guy that came out in the TO before Akron's last play telling the crowd "IT'S TIME TO MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!" ???? If so, then no, we don't need that.

Louisville has one that does it too. That guy got the crowd into a frenzy

Pretty commonplace down here in the south. They are traditionally called "yell leaders". I first noticed them with Alabama back in the late 1980s with their "Roll.... Tide" yelling.

Goofy...you'd be awesome for that job man. I'm sure that if we were to start that here, it would take a little gettin' used to for a lot of people.

I thought that was totally bush league. He kept yelling "Let Bowling Green know this is our house blah blah blah"...He was a tool. It reminded me of the NBA arenas where they have a guy screaming to get the fans excited.

Didn't work, did it?

So it was like being at a Pistons game? I've never gone, but you can hear their terrible DJ on tv during games...

Well, I was not at the game yesterday but I have been to Pistons games (have you?) and I highly doubt there is any comparison.

We have one of those guys here at Oklahoma State...the only difference is it has taken about 3 games for him and the stadium staff to finally get the settings right for his mic/speakers, which means half the student section (the area he was working) couldnt really hear him at all. Oh yeah, our "yell leader" works for athletic dept marketing...kinda like Brian from marketing at BG...only this guy keeps going throughout the game. Doesnt really bother me much, too busy watching the game and enjoying the band, but still fun to have.

I would much rather have a "yell leader" or "crowd energy leader" like that over our annoying Paddle People any day.

...and then I found five dollars.

I caught the ending of the Oklahoma State/Mizzou game. Nice win by the Cowboys.

They had a pretty good defense going. Players in the right place at the right time with mixed up stunts and looks.

Who is ther DC again?

I liked it better than Brian form marketing

"hi I am Brina from marketing"
"Hi Brian..."

The guy at the game made me excited to be there.

Oh well just my two cents
