Can you BELIEVE they're using QPSK modulation for this one? BAH! The Horizons 2/10 K is sweet though! ;-)

I was thinking the same thing... I mean, they've really got their compression algorithms tweaked to perfection!

And I thought I was technologically advanced because I had DirecTV... Do these coordinates mean anything to Joe Satellite TV Subscriber?

These are if you have the old school large dish. You can use these coordinates to grab the game signal for free.

I don't know anyone that actually still has the large dish, but I'm sure somewhere somebody does.

TV stations do... I think that's why they send the info out to the media. I think some bars/restaurants still have the old dish system too where you change the number on the box and it actually rotates the dish to lock in on a sat.

Yeah, I know TV stations have them.

The only bar I know if in the NW Ohio area that still has a large dish is Downtown. The last time I went in there for a Browns preseason game (August of '07), nobody in there could get it to work. They eventually determined that it no longer was turning properly, probably from some weather or something. They didn't think they'd ever get it fixed.

With DirecTV having the exclusive NFL contract most sports bars have gone to that. Many of them still have the local cable as well, but it doesn't seem like any (in our area anyhow) still have the big old dishes.

My parents still have a big dish in a field behind their house. They switched to Dish a few years ago, but it's still hooked up.

Something tells me the BG/Miami game will be on Channel 5 in Cleveland or FSO this weekend. The MAC site has it listed as the MAC game of the week/ESPN Regional.

Excellent! Only confirmed as "College Football: MAC teams" on the on-screen guide, but if it's the MAC game of the week, I'm set. Sorry, honey!

In unrelated news, CineMAX just put "Transformers" in with "Jaws" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" as "legendary" movies.... Really.

Yeah, you only see them in places like West Virginia.

And they are usually propping the trailer up on the side of a hill.

Anyhoo, the signals are usually scrambled.
