MU Tailgate
MU Tailgate
Somebody mentioned in another thread that we don't have any mention of tailgating plans, so I figured I'd throw it in here.
I'm guessing that BGFan & Falcon Fanatic are planning on being out there? Freak? etc?
I plan to get there around 8:30/9:00 or so (damn do I hate noon starts!). I don't have anything concrete planned for a menu, but I figured we'd just take breakfast stuff. Eggs, bacon, etc.
I don't expect it to be nearly as large of a crowd as we had for Minny or EMU, but I hope I'm wrong.

Yup, we will be there but without the B!G ass camper! It'll be like old times....tailgating out of the back end of the car!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I was thinking 6:30 or 7...need a good 3 hours before the game! I always go in early to get my seat in the front row so I can't stay out there as long. Haha

Hadn't thought of that, but that should mean it's on ESPN360 as well. Since ESPN Regional here is showing CMU-WMU, apparently.Dayons_Den wrote:Have fun y'all. This game is on ESPN Gameplan so I'll be ordering it and tailgating from the house. Wish we could be there!

Yeah it's listed as Gameplan and ESPN360. Unfortunately I do not get the 360. . . .TG1996 wrote:Hadn't thought of that, but that should mean it's on ESPN360 as well. Josh and I will be heading to BG tonight as I got one of the last rooms in town at the Knights Inn (forgot it was parents weekend when booking the room). Mrs. Freak and Jake are supposed to go to the Lake Erie Monsters hockey game tomorrow (she got the loge at the Q thru her company) but Jake may want to skip that and go to BG. I figured it was best to come up tonight cuz I don't want to leave Akron at 6 AM to get to BG by 8:30.
I will have one and, possibly, two extra tickets. Will have the grill and be grilling before and after the Falcon victory.

Joyce and I probably won't get to BG until 10:30 at the very earliest as it looks now...may have to "mooch" some food from someone if you guys don't mind...I'm looking forward to seeing just my SECOND BG game of the year as I missed HC due to my stepdaughter's wedding.

I've been to many games, but have never tailgated (outside the dorms).
My brother (He's a MU grad) and I (BG '04 and '06) are heading up tonight and tailgating starting tomorrow. How does the tailgating work? Is there a certain part of the parking lot that is reserved for tailgating?
Also - forgive the pedestrian question -
But it's koscher to bring booze and drink it in the open, right? Or do I need to put it in a container that obscures the contents?
Many Thanks,
TK

The usual group here usually meets in the north end of the lot east of the stadium, where gravel meets grass. Other than that, the whole lot around the stadium is cool for tailgating.HowAboutThatLocalSportsTe wrote:I've been to many games, but have never tailgated (outside the dorms).

Police are generally cool about booze as long as you're smart about it. Worst I've had is asked to put a can in a koozie and pour a bottled beer into a cup.
Oh, and put your fires out if you're grilling.

Are you guys still going to have a TV w/o the camper? I've got an older TV & antenna that I can bring along, if you won't have one. I don't have a generator, but I've got a power inverter that attaches to the car battery.Falcon Fanatic wrote:Yup, we will be there but without the B!G ass camper! We'll probably want a TV out there for after the game, I'd think.
