FOR ANYONE WHO CAN (1) COACH & (2) EXECUTE A SUCCESFUL QB SNEAK!!!
Seriously, does anyone know if we even know how to execute a QB sneak? Yes, I know we run the spread and we almost strictly operate out of the shotgun, but why can’t we ever attempt a sneak when we need six inches or a foot to keep a drive moving? Gee, do you think teams know when we’re faced with a situation where we need six inches or a foot and we put Turner, Barnes or even Beam back there, we’re probably going to run 95% of the time? I swear 3rd & 1 for us sometimes may as well be 3rd & 20. Heck, we got closer today for a first down today on a 4th & 20 that came up inches short than we did on some of those 3rd & shorts where we lost four or five yards. That said, yes, we do and did today convert some third and shorts with runs out of the gun and I acknowledge that. But we should be able to sneak ahead six inches or a foot like every other team in the country seems to be able to do when needed - yes, even the ones that operate in the spread. We have about 1,500 lbs in front of our QB just like ever other OL out there and they know how to run block as well as pass protect. But even when we had an All-American center in Lichtensteiger, we still couldn’t execute/rarely attempted this play and I never understood why.
