Got the word early from my boss - big bonus. B - I - G ... at least in my little world. Step 1 is complete!
Step 2: Talk to the wife and convince her that a tiny portion of that hard-earned bonus would be well-spent on a bowl trip.
Step 3: BG lays the wood on Toledo.
Step 4: Bowling in Alabama or Cali!

If BG wins, I would start your plans for Mobile if I were you. To my understanding, they get first pick.

BGorDeath: That's my understanding, too.
However, I prefer to think that it's
WHEN BG wins.

The GMAC Bowl does everything top notch, from what I am told, and I to, think we will get a bid there, right after we whoop on the "Scuds"!!!

My bad. I should have stated AFTER BG wins. I'm at work, you know, and have to do some actual paying things that may cause me not to think clearly at times.

i'd rather go to MCB or silicon valley. GMAC bowl is usually during finals week. so many students who would like to go won't be able to

The GMAC bowl is December 22, a Wednesday. It is NOT during finals week.
Unless, like I said before, the University is holding commencement on Christmas morning, which I doubt.

I think the offer would come from the Silicon Valley, personally.

The more I think about it, while its not a likely possibility without the MACC bid, and we'd like to go somewhere else this year, the MCB wouldn't be a bad option at all (provided we HAVE options, of course!). If we can fill the seats at Ford Field like we did last year, plus some, its an easy testament to how BG fans turn out for bowl games. Get a reputation for crowds like that, and it opens up possibilities in the future, at least for bowls out west to give us a shot at an at-large, instead of eliminating us because of "travel numbers".

Good for you Karl! Personally, for selfish reasons, I am hoping BG goes back to the MCB so our famliy can go.
But, if BG ends up in Mobile or California, so be it!!

That is a good point. I am really worried that if we wind up in Cali we will have very few fans. Getting tons of people to go to Detriot is one thing but the other side of the country is a whole other story. That's a huge expense to pay for a minor bowl game. And wouldn't that be like a home game for Fresno St?

Freak:
Honestly, the MCB will be just a big a sell as Mobile or Cali. I just never mentioned it because, well, no one else had. It seems all the speculation is swirling around the Silicon Valley and the GMAC. I would love to go back to Detroit; Noah & I had such a great time at the game and seeing the Ford Museum, et al. And we'd have a lot more Falcon fans to hang with in Detroit than the other venues.
No qualms about any bowls from me!

You won't see me complaining no matter what bowl (if any) BG gets a bid to play in. However, for purely selfish reasons I want the MCB. It is the only bowl that I'd be able to attend, and I'm sure I'm not alone. The only bowl game that BG will travel well to is Detroit. Any other bowl and we will bring very few fans. Yes some of my fellow posters may make it, but as a whole the BG fan base is not going to be travelling to California for a game like they would to Detroit.
