Gary Blackney (born December 12, 1944) is the current secondary coach of the University of Central Florida football program.

Maybe he would like to come back?

Evidently you haven't been jackslapped yet today.

He did win to MAC titles, two bowls, had two decent years aside from that.

Those paltry six losing years afterwords, whose to say Brandon won't have four or five by the time we get rid of him? Will BG repeat the mistakes from the past, or figure things out and do something sooner? I don't hold much faith they'll avoid the problems.

One key difference, Brandon isn't under contract through 2013.

I definitely feel that Brandon has worn out his welcome. I think he is a class act, but I don't think he is the coach for this team anymore. He did some wonderful things while he was here, but everything has gone downhill since the loss against Tulsa, other than an upset of Pitt at the beginning of this season. We are 0-3 at home and aren't looking too good in our chances to win the MAC East, let alone the MACC. This team rarely plays to its potential and that is unacceptable.

I don't believe that. Not after seeing our complete lack of discipline on and off the field this year and him continually denying that there is a problem. At least he's not a complete azz-hat like Dakich.

At least you knew what you were getting with Dakich.

I was talking to one of the Cleveland area high school football coaches yesterday. (not the coach where I work, btw) He said that Brandon was one of the most arrogant college coaches he has ever met and would steer any possible recruits away from BG if he could.

I trust the high school coach and respect him... a lot. The lack of character shown by Brandon, more than wins and losses, more than just about everything said on this board, means more to me as an alum.

Wow, that's something. This could possibly explain why we are getting so many knuckleheads now. Real good HS coaches worth their salt are steering their good players away from BG and maybe letting the bad apples fall to us if they wish. This is certainly telling in even just a small way.
