Creative Play Calling

Suprise it's a screen!
My only major complaint relates to the playcalling prior to our second field goal. Somebody brought it up in another thread as well. Chris Bullock was outstanding on that drive and single-handedly got us down to the 2 yard line for a 2nd and goal. Instead of pounding the ball straight ahead with Chris, we put him in motion and had Tyler run a draw up the middle. Stuffed. Instead of pounding the ball straight ahead on third down, we tried a reverse with a pass option. Stuffed.
I didn't like the screen call on 3rd and 15 on our last drive and I hated that we used a timeout before the play, but I understand it. The coaches didn't want to throw it deep into the wind and risk a pick. They probably assumed that we could actually get a punt off when NIU wasn't even trying to block the kick. After that, you just knew that NIU was going to pound us and kick a field goal as time ran out.
