168 yards, 10 first downs & a blocked punt = MAC loss #3

168 yards, 10 first downs & one blocked punt = MAC loss #3. And next week we return home (yikes!) to host Kent State who just destroyed Miami 54-21 in Oxford. This absolutely promising season is turning into a complete disaster by each passing week. I don’t know which is more frustrating right now, watching a veteran team picked to win the MAC East struggle to win any MAC game right now, or wondering what in the hell we’re going to do next year when we lose a boatload of our key players? The future, whether it’s next week or next year, looks very gloomy right now for BG football. That season-opening win over Pitt seems like five years ago.

Are you having doubts about BGSU football?...How Dare You! We are supreme! Brandon is the best EVER! One loss or should I say, LOST! We are the greatest! Don't want to piss off the supreme mega falcon ranks in here!

Dude your act is tired as all hell. Do you actually read the posts here or just come on to blather like a little baby?

Do you realize that probably 50% of the board hated Brandon well before this season kicked off...hell well before LAST season kicked off?

Do you realize that NOBODY hear has ever called Brandon the best ever?

I know all of the "supreme mega falcon" people in here personally, and I know that at least a few of them have been wanting rid of Brandon for years, and there aren't too many that are defending him at all at this point.

So what the heck is your deal?

I've been trying to figure out an appropriate subheading for my account... "Supreme Mega Falcon" has a nice ring to it!

And it's not that the "Supreme Mega Falcons" have issues necessarily with what was being said, but usually it's about HOW it was said (and how many times). I often disagree with what some of the long time posters say, but it's usually done in a well-formed argument and then dropped when the next beer is poured. (Except Bleeding Orange. That dude's just a douchebag. :-D )

What worries me most about Kent is Julian Edelman. We just played a freshman quarterback who ran all over us, and we gave up a 10 minute drive. 10 minutes? Seriously? I'm not sure what did us in more, drives like that in the second half, not scoring TDs in the first half when we got within the 10, or the bone-headed offensive playcalling on our final drive, but either way, it was bad. Edelman is a better runner that this QB was and that worries me. A lot.

We're not going to win another game all year.

Ironically, I think they may win another game. Maybe even more than one. I believe this because whatever karmic laws we have offended dictate that they have one really good last game, and that alone will be held up as proof positive that the coaches are all gods who need five year extensions. Or they'll beat UT and the entire rest of the year will be declared a fluke and the coaches are gods who need ten year extensions.

And truthfully that is exactly what I expect, no normal bitter sarcasm intended. Frankly, even the bitter pill of having to deal with renewed Brandonista flak would be worth beating UT at their place.

At this point, no matter what our final W-L is, seeing us actually win at Toledo would somewhat salvage a disappointing season for me. I'm going to skip Thanksgiving to drive out and see it. Yeah, I'm pretty much insane. Should be fun.

IMO, that's basically all there's left to look forward this season, barring a miracle. If things keep going the way they have been, both teams are gonna have some putrid records as well to back up their bragging rights. It wouldn't shock me to see both teams 3-8 or 4-7 going into that game.

Yeah, but unfortunately you guys will have the No Home Field advantage.

If someone gives me a ticket, maybe, but I'll be damned if I'm paying $34 for a ticket to see those two teams play. I called UT a couple of weeks ago to see if they had any discounts if I bought 14 tickets and they said no, so I'll happily stay home and watch (maybe) on TV. They should be selling those tickets for $1.31 (no "0" needed!)

$34 is pretty outrageous. I'm still making the trip for the game, but the price of those tickets has tempered my enthusiasm some.
