Believe it or not, we are STILL in the MAC race!

OK, so that's an indictment of the MAC east, but check this out:

Akron 2-2
Temple 2-3
Buffalo 1-2
Ohio 1-3
Kent State 1-3
Miami (OH) 1-3
Bowling Green 1-3

MAC records show how weak the east is ... not a single team above .500 in the conference. But ... every single team is in the race. Whichever team gets hot in these last few games will win the east. Akron is on top, but remember, they lose once, we don't lose again (we all can hope), we have the tie breaker over them. It's just a matter of time until Miami loses another one. Essentially - we win out, Akron and Miami lose to anybody in the conference, we win the east. I know this is INCREDIBLY unlikely, but so was our win streak at the end of last season. Don't lose all hope yet!!

At this point, I really don't care, and even if we did win the east and went bowling, it would be the first bowl game that BG attended that I would NOT attend!

Knowing your two choices are a BG bowl game or the O'Bama/Biden Inaugural, I'm very impressed that you would choose to go to DC for the inauguration of our next President!

It isn't so much that I have lost all hope as that I am beyond all caring. Still love the Falcons, hope they win out. Would love them to go to the MACC, but so what?

I'd also love to fly an F-5, Have dinner with Michael Reagan, and go on an African Safari, it isn't beyond all hope, but it isn't very likely either. If my happiness and sense of self-worth depended on it, I would be on the short end of the stick.

That pretty well sums it up. I'll still hit the games and tailgate. I'll hang with the crew from azz.com that I only get to see 5 or 6 times a year and we'll all have a good time. Then I'll go into the game and cheer/boo when warranted.

At the end of the day though, I'm no longer emotionally invested in this team. They play crappy football, have a crappy coach, and some of the players have shown themselves to be crappy people. If they win, great, but if they lose it just doesn't get to me anymore.

Coach Brandon should be congratulated. He's lowered my expectations for his team so far that even he may not be able to fall short of them any longer. I say we give him another 10 years...I'm sure by gosh some season will eventually come along where not a single player gets hurt, we get lucky breaks a couple times, and we can win the MAC. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

I've been ripping Brandon on here well before it was the cool thing to do. None of the "losers" as you so eloquently put it have been all over me for doing so, either.

Your problem is not your point. It's your abrasive style and inability to convey your thoughts in correct English.

Well this is BG, and if you want people to give any credibility to your thoughts it's not how we do it. This board is pretty open to criticism if it appears to have rational thought behind it.

Well, that explains it.

MarkL,
You are absolutely right. BG is not dead yet. But we need to show up every game like the Pitt game to have any chance of winning the East.
Hopefully it starts this weekend...

Don't blame your neighborhood for being a dick....the Eddie Murphy movie Trading Places proved two things beyond the shadow of a doubt. Jamie Lee Curtis had a GREAT rack and enviroment can be overcome by intellect.
