Spread Offense....

In watching Texas Tech right now march up and down the field against Texas , I'm interested in finding out what kind of spread TxTech runs as opposed to ours. I never really get to see TxTech much and so I was very interested in watching this game. I've had this idea that TxTech primarily runs a pass heavy O with a lot of 4 and 5 wide. I don't know if there known for using running qb's or not but Harrell seems to be the prototypical pro form qb and not a scrambler but I haven't really ever see TxTech much to know for sure. Thoughts?

Tech's line might be the best in America. That's what makes them go.

I'm sure their o-line has a lot to do with their success but there has to be a bit more to it.

Yea no doubt, two great backs, a bevy of receiver talent and an NFL gun help too, but to run a really good spread, the line is where it starts.

Tech's spread makes sure that WR's are not in the same area of the field. There is always someone running a go route. A WR over the middle. One in the flat.

It also helps when your QB throws to everyone the way that TT's QBs always have seemed to do.

If you have seen the running plays that TT runs, they have been running mostly when the safeties and LBs are pinched towards the sidelines.

Tech also runs a balanced attack using their RB behind that line. They can hoist up points, and control the clock as well.

Christ on a bike, that was a good game.

Tech could easily put up 35 on the Lions and Bengals.

I hope that was sarcasm, because it's patently false.

agree with that. plus, they can actually run the ball if need-be. thanks to the o-line. however you look at it, they have a balanced attack.

Is there a sarcasm font? Do you mean the first statement or the second one?

The second. The game was phenomenal.

Yea that was sarcasm, but I might not be that far off if I said Tech has a better O-line than the Lions.
