This week, we cheer for Toledo and Buffalo

Tuesday - Buffalo vs Miami - we want Buffalo to win
Wednesday - Toledo vs Akron - we want Toledo to win

Why?

If we win out, we finish with 3 MAC losses. If Akron wins out, they finish with 2 MAC losses. If they lose just one game and we win out, we hold the tie breaker over them from our win.

If Miami wins out (yeah, right), they finish with 3 MAC losses, and a tie breaker over us.

So ... if those two wins happen, we control our own destiny in the conference!

I just did that math now and I was hoping someone would post that.

Careful you're only getting our hopes up, just to be let down next week. I want to believe we have a shot, but we have been too inconsistent. I will still find it hard to root for that team 20 miles to the north of BG.

"WE CAN DOOO IT!"
If not, then..."CUT THEIR F#@%ING HEADS OFF!"
(Waterboy movie reference, for those wondering WTF I just posted)

I feel like the fan in Major League 2. I came into this season with high expectations, but now I can only sit here and wait for the next bad game. I want this team to win, but for the past few weeks I don't expect it. Maybe they will go on to win their next 3. If not I will chalk it up as wait til next year and look forward to BG's best team, the Women's Basketball team.

What if Temple wins out? They will only have 3 MAC losses and we don't play them so how do they do the tie-breaker? They don't exactly have the toughest schedule left either so it is possible for them to win out.

Yeah, I didn't think about them. Here's the MAC's ass-backwards tie breaking scheme, and more evidence that a 13 team conference doesn't work.

I'm hoping for a win against UT, anything else is secondary. Until they do that, I'm not investing any hope for anything. I call it having well grounded expectations. If I start expecting jack, then anything more is a huge bonus.
