Back from Athens....

Very solid game by the Falcons as this one was never in doubt. The D just dominated Ohio holding OU to just 228 total yards. The O, while not pretty at times, did a nice job controlling the clock and getting in the end zone.
We always play well in Athens...love the drive down and Peden Stadium is one of my fave MAC venues.
Had a great time tailgating with MajorFalcon, Spart43, RobD and others. Most of us stayed for the Vball match but BG got hammered, 3-1.
Two weeks to get ready for Buffalo...one game at a time.
GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!

I like how there are 23 threads when we have a bad game. But no one is to be found around here after we play a good one. Guess the band wagon has given out on this season.
I love Peden stadium as well and the drive down 77 this time of year is always nice.

Beam played a great game yesterday! With AT banged up some, it's apparent that Beam can pseudo-fill that roll. And Jason Rice was pretty quite the first half, but there was a point where we were in the red zone at 3rd and 8. Brandon called a draw to Rice, I'm assuming with the expectation to chew a few more seconds off the clock and get a FG, and instead Rice hammered it right through the gut for a first down. Man, that guy is going to be a star for us! Chris Bullock played great too - he is going to be sorely missed in 2010.

I think the lack of threads is due to the fact that with a solid win on both sides of the ball all the complainers have nothing to say while the optimists/orange gogglers, etc. are now focused on Buffalo.
If it were otherwise, out comes the firebrandon.com, the bad play calling thread, three different ones that VDub would start...and I assume that it is all quiet because the band did not travel and thus a.)did not start the wave b.) play Sweet Caroline and c.) did not hamper the offense while playing during the snap count.
Won, Move on.
Commence Turner Gill thread.
But Buffalo did look very good on TV this past week vs. Miami.

I'm feelin pretty good about our chances over the next two games. The team is still working hard and Brandon seems to have finally got some other guys involved. There's more creativity in the O which is absolutely key! If the Defense can continue to make plays we have a great shot at winning this division!
GO BG!

There would probably be more threads if the game were televised. Yes, I know it was on MACcess, or whatever it is, but since it wasn't on TV, I didn't see the game.

We were also down in Athens this weekend. It was GREAT to see us finally win back-to-back games this season. It puts us back at .500 overall (5-5) and in the MAC (3-3). Now if we can just win two more games and get a little help (fingers crossed). Can we now please have a do-over against both EMU and Miami? I'm still wondering how we lost to both of those teams, at home, as they both sit in the basement of the MAC West & MAC East, respectively.

Well, at least there is never a dull moment around here.
Buffalo will be the best MAC team we play in the regular season...they are for real and we must play mistake free ball to win.

Besides vball losing and getting kicked out of our first tailgate spot because it was "family weekend and I paid $250 for this spot" (as the lady used for her reasoning) it was a great trip to Athens

I was down on the field for this one and the attitude of the players was just great throughout this entire game. They came out pumped up and they stayed excited throughout the whole game. Whenever anything went wrong at all they were all picking each other up and just overall having a good time. Even in other wins this year I haven't seen the team that excited for a game, so let's hope this can carry over.

Actually I haven't seen any complaints towards the band the last two weeks. It seems to be that if we win...people stop complaining about the simplest things (ie the FMB)...in any case...I'm sure glad that we won in Athens, thus giving us 2 wins in a row, hopefully we can make it three in a row after the Buffalo game.

We become the biggest UB fans and then turn around and root against them the following week. That game Thursday night against Akron is gonna be huge for the Falcons chances of representing the East in Detroit.

I don't start THAT many threads do I??? I just over-post in other people's threads due to my boredom at work!
