Brandon Press Conference Quote

"I challenged the seniors and said don't wait until the last minute, which is what we're doing," Brandon said. "But we're in it. We're halfway home and we have to finish.”

Nice job Greg! Way to step up and challenge your team. Think maybe you could have done this earlier in the year?

Honestly, how much of this garbage has to be regurgitated over and over again?

To all Brandon haters: you've made your point, and made it quite clearly. I'm a fan of his, but at the same time I will say many of the points made about coaching this season have been very valid, and well argued. But can all the nitpicking and tearing apart everything he says finally go away? Or at least wait until the next loss. It's just so annoying to read over and over, and doesn't teach us anything new.

If Rick Pitino were here, he'd say "Urban Meyer and Josh Harris aren't walkin through that door."

Brandon's the coach right now, if you don't like it, just deal with it and move on. Guh.

Just cause he beats the likes of OU and Kent doesn't mean he's suddenly Knute Rockne. When he makes stupid comments like this in a weekly press conference he should be called on it. Greg’s not the brightest bulb in the bunch. I've had the chance to talk to him and hear him speak on a number of occasions and come away unimpressed. See, if the coach doesn’t get it, how do you expect the players to get it? He doesn’t know what’s wrong with our program or how to fix it. If he did, he wouldn’t walk into a press conference and make comments that make you scratch your head. That’s sad because he’s probably never going to lead this program beyond an above average team in our conference. That’s sad given the talent, resources and fans associated with this program.

I grew tired of this game years ago. I can beat my 5-yr old nephew at basketball pretty handily, it's just not that fun anymore.

Brandon's not a good coach, but those that still defend him are never going to see the other side, so what's the point.

I agree with you Rollo, I'm just tired of typing about it. I've resigned myself to the fact that this team will never win until we get a new coach. I've also resigned myself to the fact that will likely not be anytime soon.

The problem with Gregg Brandon is that he is a good enough coach to get us around .500, maybe just touch over .500 most years. Which isn't bad enough to fire him, not good enough to really satisfy the fans and community of Bowling Green football. We're 23-23 in the 4 years I've been a student here at BG, and personally, I expected better than that. But I also have the brains to look around the MAC and see teams like Ohio, Kent, Buffalo, even Miami and Toledo, that don't have it as good as us.

Really what we need to do with Brandon is the same thing we did with Dakich. Just let him finish out his contract and then get a new coach after his contract is up. Unless he puts up a 10-2 or better record between now and 2010.

But Brandon has had teams that SHOULD have won at least 1 MAC Championship. He doesn't coach his own recruits well and he lets them get away with murder (Thank God it hasn't actually gotten that far yet). Discipline is a huge issue right now and I think you have to start at the top (Brandon) when figuring out why there are discipline problems.
