It's official, Miami has just beat Akron and is set for the MAC Championship from winning the MAC East. I give Miami credit for a great game, but I think I'm going to have the cheer for NIU to win the MACC (after we beat Toledo of course). NIU winning makes our loss to them look better and I'm all for that!

McMetz:
I have to agree with you on wanting Northern to win it.
As much as I dislike Miami, I didn't like the idea of Akron getting to the MACC or, gulp!, a bowl.
Miami - NIU has a nice ring to it. I just hope the Huskies open up a can on the Redskins (Red Hawks ... please).

Northern deserves to not only win the MACC but a MCB appearance. I think that Purdue will be getting the Big 10 bid.

I was at the Rubber Bowl last night and I think that Akron actually lost the game rather than Miami winning. At one point in the first half, Akron was winning 17-6 and then Miami scored TDs on four consecutive drives. Akron switched up their gameplan and tried to establish the run, but it didn't work very well. Frye played great most of the game, but he looked pretty bone headed late...the culmination being on their last drive...4th & ten...he had all the time in the world....could have run for about 15-20 yards and pretty much threw the ball away...could not believe he didn't just take off.

I actually don't care who wins the MACC. I only care about BG and nothing seems right without us as the champion.
Food for thought...we will probably end up the highest ranked MAC team and not be a team in the championship game. When has that ever happened??? hmmm...this could be history in the making.
GO BG!!!

Thats actually a good thing. B/c we arent eating up the automatic bid, and have a better chance for the at-large bid anyway. But since we have the 3rd bowl this ear, that theory really doesnt apply this year.

Thanks for the congrats. Personally, I'm glad we won't be playing you guys in the MACC, but I feel it's unfortunate that the best team from the east won't be playing the best from the west. Good luck Tuesday! Thanks again for making this possible for us. Marshall can go and take their 6-5 record with them!!
Sounds so good...

Miami suffered an early loss, but took care of what it had to and got the wins it needed and is back to the MACC. We suffered an early loss as well, but never got the help we needed. This is exactly why, in the MAC, you must win every game. MAC teams aare essentially faced with teams competing for the national championship, all games are must wins. Losing just once can cost you a shot at something special. I sure hope we beat Toledo. Congratulations Miami.

My thanks as a Miami fan is extended to the BG faithful as the Falcons delivered the knock-out punch to Marshall that my RedHawks failed to deliver.
Good luck at your bowl!!

Actually you can afford to lose one crossover game and still control your own destiny as we did last year and UT has the oppurtunity to do this year. Not going happen though 8)

The Freaklings and I showed up after halftime and one of the ushers asked me if I had my tix ready. I kinda chuckled and said "It's the 3rd quarter." He said "Yes, they sell tix until the start of the 4th." I laughed in his face and we walked down the hill to the main entrance. As soon as the UA Band left the field, they opened the main gate. No way was I plunking down $30 for half a game. Akron complains that nobody comes to their games but its thinking like that that turns folks away.
Good crowd on hand...like Falconking said, Akron lost that game. But credit Miami for winning on the road. I like the chance of a Miami/NIU matchup as well. Congrats Miami on repeating...
BEAT TOLE_O!!!
