I would like to take this opportunity to invite all students, faculty, staff and Falcon football fans to attend our game against Buffalo Friday night at 6 p.m. It's a huge game for the Falcons with championship implications.
Bundle up, fill your thermos with hot chocolate and support our team.
Also Friday is senior night. Before the game we will honor our 17 outstanding senior football players and their families to thank them for their many contributions to the athletic department and the university.
Let's make it an 'Orange Out' at the Doyt Friday night. Come out early and greet the team at 4 p.m. as our seniors take their final team walk.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you all Friday.
I'll reserve editorial comment about coming out early on a Friday.

Yeah, what a ridiculous assumption that people will be able to come out early for a 6 o'clock game on a WORK DAY! What an awful idea...I feel bad for the seniors more than anyone!

Though the idea of promoting bringing a Thermos to the game is an interesting one.

Not sure that it will move any one to come to the game, but still a nice thing to do. How about a full-page ad in The BG News aimed at the students?
Oh, and Grant, you should know by now that Hot Chocolate is Athletic Department code for "anything that will help hammb forget most of the game."

They don't need a code word for that, do they? I thought it was a given that "whatever-that-is" would be there. HA!

Hot "rum infused" Chocolate may help numb the senses on a cold Friday eve at The Doyt accompanied by a few Bacardi 151 soaked marshmallows.....I never knew Hammb could do the Moonwalk or Irish Jig?

I won't be able to get there in time for tailgating, but I'll definitely be bringing my flask

Yesterday (Wednesday) there was a full-page ad on the second page of the "sports" section mentioning the game, the orange out, and that dining services will be closed on campus after 3pm. I imagine that it will be in today's and friday's paper as well.
edit: well I'll be damned...that's what I get for not reading through all the posts before replying...

He would have been better off, writing to Christopher, and asking him to change the gametime to 7:30!

Couldn't Brandon just have some player fake a two hour cramp on the field at kick-off, so the rest of the world could even think about being there.....

Maybe we could get Mawel Soler to stop by, jump up to touch the goal post during warm-ups and accidentally rip it down...that should buy us at least an hour and a half!!!
