Nick's Picks for all of Week #13 are now live in the site. While Nick was a bit off on the score, he did pick NIU to win last night for a 70-22 record on the season. Check out all of the Week #13 MAC football picks over at

Well, it's clear that Vandelay is on the hate train now, he's predicted BG losses the last three games in a row. But then again, he's 1-9 in picking BG games this year. So let's see what he says this week:
Buffalo 31 - BGSU 20
"The Bulls are on a collision course for their first bowl game in their program’s history. The Falcons have not played well at home but did put up a good defensive performance against Ohio last week. UB’s rushing game will prove to be too much for BG."
Yes! Cheers to a Falcon victory!!

In his defense, predicting the outcomes of BG's game this year have been quite the challenge depending on which BG shows up. Hopefully, the team we've seen the last two weeks will stick around for the next 4 games!

Agreed on that point. BG has been very tough to predict.
As a counterweight, here's how my picks have gone:
Pittsburgh - loss (wrong)
Minnesota - win (wrong)
Boise State - loss (correct)
Wyoming - win (correct)
Eastern Michigan - win (wrong)
Akron - win (correct)
Miami - loss (correct)
Northern Illinois - win (wrong)
Kent State - win (correct)
Ohio - win (correct)
Buffalo - win (unknown)
Toledo - win (unknown)
So far that's 6-4. Pittsburgh was a shocker, as was Eastern Michigan, so I doubt anybody out there would have gotten those. Northern Illinois and Minnesota were the more toss-up misses. But I can see where people would pick Akron over us, or even Kent State given our troubles at home. Now Ohio, that was just dumb on Vandelay's part. We haven't lost in Athens since god knows when, plus Ohio is horrible. That one was a gimme, just like Boise on the road was. Nobody ever emerges from that blue field with a victory, it just doesn't happen.
In the end, we aren't going to reach the 9-3 (7-1) that I hoped we would, but 7-5 will get us to Detroit so I'll take it.
BEAT BUFFALO!!!

Do you realize that if that happens, we will have beaten two nationally ranked teams in the same year? Has BG EVER done that? I don't think so. I LOVE the sound of that.
But first things first, BEAT BUFFALO!!

I think in in 2003 Purdue and NIU were both ranked nationally when the Falcons beat them

Definitely correct in '03. Not sure if we've ever done it any other time, but definitely in '03.

Aw shucks, forgot about that Purdue game in 2003, for some reason I thought that was '02. Well, 2003 was the greatest year in the history of Bowling Green football, so being compared with that we will be in some pretty high company.
