SUSPENDED?????

As reported in another thread, but after watching Brandon blatently shove Freddie Barnes, blowing yet another 4th quarter lead, and then ripping on the crowd in his press game news conference I really think Greg Christopher seriously needs to think about suspending Coach Brandon for this game. All of his actions were unexcusable. He holds the player responsible and says he will not put up with any off the field problems, well, we as fans, and the administration, should not have to put up with Coach Brandons actions tonight. Pushing Freddie Barnes is unexcusable. Ripping the crowd for not showing up when the coaching staff cannot put a winning product on the field, with more than likely the top level talent in th MAC, is unexcusable.

Mr. Christopher, show some leadership and do the right thing. Coach Brandon should not be allowed to take the field this coming week. If he does then he is a hypocrite for not abiding by his own policies!

Also to add to this, what about showing some respect and support to the football team's biggest fan, the FMB. Every game, win or lose, the team comes over for Ay Zig and the Alma Mater.
Was 'coach' Brandon too cold for this tradition. Was he too tired to reciprocate the respect and support the band showed till the end! Even when he blew the lead, the band was there for the team, and yet Brandon takes them off the field.

Stay classy "coach". or is that get classy?

Tonight I went to a local benefit basketball game for kids with disabilities and in need of rehab equipment. I would have liked to have been at the Doyt but this just wasn't possible given the Friday night schedule and my commitment to this cause. After excitedly following the game on my cell phone and wondering how the hell we blew a 27-7 lead - to come home to hear that Coach Brandon ripped the FANS in his press conference???

You won't hear me defending this man anymore. I didn't get to see how he blew this one, but there is no excuse for attacking the fans, many of whom went all over the country following this team in hopes of the season the players were capable of. I, too, will not be attending the UT game after this performance and his inexcusable remarks.

Mr. Christopher - it's time to start looking.

The last Gregg Brandon apologist has left the building.

I didn't see GB push Freddie, but I did see Freddie come off the field visibly mad about the decision to take a knee. Freddie was also one of the first couple players off the field after the game. Did anybody else see GB push him?

I wouldn't characterize what I saw on my choppy BCSN feed as a "push" per se. He sort of pull him over with his hand in his face then shoved him away, nothing Woody Hayes-like. I was more interested in the confrontation and lack of respect given GB by FB than anything sinister with a shove or nudge.

That's what I thought probably happened. GB doesn't get fired up enough to actually push someone.

I agree with you completely about FB's reaction showing a lack of respect. That said a lot to me.

Absolutely horrendous play calling; the fact that they took a knee with 32 seconds left...how about trying to win a game instead of always just trying not to lose! Two plays to make one yard in over time and they call time out and then throw into four or five guys...ONE YARD...there was no innovation, no reversals, the qb's run more than the running backs! It was so easy to see this game unfold the way it did because we are so PREDICTABLE!! We had everything on the line tonight. Never threw down field, way too cautious, were way better than Buffalo in three quarters. HATS OFF TO BUFFALO! Coach, take some responsibility, your players deserve at least that[/b]

I drove past the stadium at about 7:30 on the way home from work, and folks were already leaving. Even I was amazed at how totally empty it looked. I haven't seen the stands that empty since the OU game in 1995. I had zero intention of going, and the end-result was what I expect, if not how I anticipated it would occur.

But to read that they had a 20 point lead, and Brandon's pathetic display after the game, I'm galled beyond all belief. Even the 6 p.m. start doesn't explain 100% of the attendance issue. This was a repudiation, not just a poorly attended game. And the rant after the game is simply another brick in the wall.
