WTF?!?

Post by San Fran Falcon »

I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse here. I've yet to look at any other threads yet. But...seriously....are you kidding me? (That's what I asked my friend when he checked the final score for me on his blackberry.) How the hell do we blow a 14 pt. lead with 4:23 to go in the game? I was feelin' real good drinkin' my beer at happy hour seeing that we were up by 2 scores. Then, all of a sudden, we're in OT. WTF? what happened? I'm drunk right now, so I will hold my true feelings back at this moment. I truly want to puke right now, and it's not because I drank too much tonight.

I am glad I made the choice not to listen to this one. Not much to say because everything pretty much already has been said.

Feel bad for the people who were at this game. They deserved better.

I feel bad for the people that were at the game, but they should have KNOWN better.

I feel bad for the players, who should be coached better.

I feel bad for the school, which should have better.

Too much talent on this team. This team should have only one loss this year. There's only one place to put the blame and the powers to be can take care of that.

You just lost your right to call yourself a true falcon fan. How DARE you call out the fervent few who suffered in the cold last night. You're no better than GB. So we can't hope and pray that just maybe our guys would win a big game at home. We should just expect to lose every time out and then maybe every once and a while we'll get thrown a bone and we'll be happy about it because hey, we won?

That my friend, is a loser mentality. You essentially just bemoaned the fact that those in the stands last night aren't as big a loser as yourself. Congratulations.

EDIT: Your argument that I, and so many others "should have known better" is one in the same with my girlfriend, who among other things, believes that the football team, and probably all athletic programs and all athletic scholarships should be scrapped immediately as they are a waste of money. That should give you an idea of what kind of crowd you're in.

Blah blah blah. Like there is a holy-writ gospel on who gets to be a "true" anything. I'm not knocking the folks that went, and don't be so thick-skulled to believe otherwise.

I'm saying the folks that took off of work, which they are free to do, to attend that game, and are shocked at the outcome, need to dial-in.

If the game were starting later, odds are I'd even have come past. But as has been noted elsewhere, some of us have real jobs, families, and don't always put sitting in those stands first.

Frankly, in the end, I'm glad nobody was there. The message it sends the administration should be duly noted for what it was, and that isn't simply that 6 p.m. on a Friday is a bad idea, but that the public has cashed its chips in and there isn't public support for the staff.

**On Edit**

I'm being a bit harsh, your not being thick-skulled. You thought what you did about what I said and I can see how. And I've known and sat next to trustees who think there shouldn't be any grants-in-aid too, and there is a valid point to be made about those points of view. Everybody is unhappy, regardless of if they love or hate GB, or if they attend games good or bad.

I didn't like Brandon as a coach before, no news there. This comments being what they are, if he doesn't apologize quickly, I'm going to openly dislike the man himself. It is one thing to soft shoe around why your team isn't very good. It is one thing think something about attendance. But to shoot one's mouth off like that, even if he believes it, he has to cool off and apologize, or frankly he is asking for people all across NW Ohio to flip him the bird and stay home. And if there isn't a hint of disappointment from the University in light of those comments, they are effectively saying they agree, which only will alienate people more deeply.

Brandon changed the debate Friday night, and like it or not, he's opened the Pandoras box his remaining contract and first two years had been keeping closed.
