Response from Coach Brandon

I sent an email to Coach Brandon that I copied under Grant's thread under his email to the coach as well. Brandon responded with the fact that he wouldn't apologize for calling out the fans, but listed his reasoning why. While I believe the timing and placement for that 'call-out' was inappropriate, his pov has some validity in terms of support for a winning program over the last seven years. He also said that the team skipping the alma mater was a mistake and that would be addressed with the team.
I will give any person in his position credit for taking the time to respond. I wished him and the team success this week against Toledo.

Interesting that he chose to go out 7 years to call us a winning program. It was a good call by him to include Urban's 2 years and the 2 years that he rode the Urban wave. Because we certainly haven't been a "winning program" in the time that it's been truly his program.
It was nice of him to write you back, but I'm not real encouraged that he understands his mistakes if he is still failing to apologize for ripping the fans.

I got to thinking (dangerous, I know) today. I wonder how many of Coach Brandon's "friends and family" made it to the game Friday. Of course they have a nice warm box to sit in, but still, "who was there?" Did his son make it back from Purdue for this BIG game? Were other members of his immediate family there? What about brothers, sisters etc? His wife's family? Wouldn't he consider them "true" BG fans as long as he is coaching? I would have thought that since it was such a BIG game that they ALL would have been there.
Just wondering!

Bull****. I bet most fans did not know that Friday night's games actually had MAC championship implications. I went to Pitt - packed. I went to Minn - packed. I went to homecoming - although some will bitch about the attendance the tailgate was full and it was shoulder-to-shoulder moving around the stadium.
Stop blaming the freaking fans for your inept performance. Ridiculous. Do you think Jerry York or Doyt Perry ever bitched about attendance?

no doubt dstubb. Brandon, take ownership man! Blaming the fans is a cheap copout.
