Their coach, is a BG grad, quarterback from 78-81, and truly a class act.
From today's Dekalb Daily Chronical:
The Silicon Valley Football Classic is expected to announce a bowl bid offer to the MAC on Monday.
EMU coach Jeff Genyk said the Falcons deserve the bid if they lose on Tuesday.
"Right now, Bowling Green is very difficult to defend," Genyk said. "All three (West contenders) are really good teams, but if I had to choose one I would say Bowling Green because their offense is so efficient and their defense is pretty solid, too."

I think they will be announcing that the MAC will get a slot this year. I wouldn't expect the actual invitation to come until at least a week after the game tuesday, no matter who it goes to. I should say, unless they are planning on picking us no matter what, because the more time they can give our Alumni Assoc. to get people to San Diego the better for the bowl. I only provide this provision because I have heard some whispers that the reason SVC gave the MAC the bid was because of BG, not the MAC. But, that is unofficial and quite possibly just wishful thinking.

Hopefully they'll try to get us to San Jose....that would be quite a long bus trip to the stadium from San Diego.Bleeding Orange wrote:I should say, unless they are planning on picking us no matter what, because the more time they can give our Alumni Assoc. to get people to San Diego the better for the bowl.

IMHO, the bowl situation depends on who wins on Tuesday. Remember, the GMAC and the MCB help the schools with expenses. The Silicon Valley bowl does not. As much as I would LOVE some California dreamin', it would be tougher for us financially. BUT SHOULD THEY ASK US, I will be lucky enough to go, and I am sure we would be thrilled to accept.
ROLL ALONG!
