The EMU job has to be one of the least appealing in D-1.

Or the most to a serious up and comer. If you can turn EMU into a winning program you can do anything, possibly even walk on water.

Genyk can still get bent.

As it stands right now, I'm attending EMU next year for grad school. Maybe I should apply for the head coaching job - I might just do better!

Genyk will be on BGSU's coaching staff next season. Mark my words, you heard it here first! He and Coach Brandon are tight.

Then perhaps GB could hire Bobby Wallace to join Genyk and Jim Hofher so that we could be home to former head coaches at powerhouse programs like Eastern, Temple, and Buffalo!

NOW is the time for EMU to step up. With UM so sucky, and EMU being miles down the road, they must take advantage of UM's down time...I don't see RR bringing them back anytime soon...at least a couple years to get his guys in there. Maybe get the fan base going...

Sad to see he was fired, but you knew it was coming. Even more sad we were the only FBS team EMU beat this year too.

Very true. We'll probably be telling Shane Montgomery the same thing.

From this mornings Dayton Daily.... no link......

AD mum about Montgomery's future

"FAIRB0RN - Miami University Director of Athletics Brad
Bates is staying tight-lipped about the future of Miami
head football coach Shane Montgomery, whose team will
wrap up a third consecutive losing season Friday, Nov 28 .
at home against Ohio.

Bates declined to comment Monda night, Nov 24 at
the Nutter Center, where he was watching the Miami-
Wright State basketball game, about whether Miami
would make a coaching change with Montgomery, who is
in the final year of his contract.

"Shane and I have had on-going discussions throughout
the course of the year, and we'll have another one this
week, said Bate, who talks informally with Montgomery
every week, often following mid-week practice sessions. "

Radio said they are also having free admission to this week's game. Didn't call out the fans, just offered free admission.
