Lost Recruit

Just for the heck of it, I decided to double check on our recruit lists after Ronnie Goble (TE-Mich), verballed.... noticed that Tyler Harrell out of Dublin wasn't on the list anymore...checking him out, he's now committed to Iowa.

Hopefully, we won't lose too many more of these kids after the end of this season. Things like the Buffalo/Miami/E.Mich. games can come back to haunt us, IMO.

Not sure if you can apply the leaving of Harrell to those bad losses, but maybe the fact that Iowa stepped up with an offer. Nothing against BG, but if it's Iowa and Big Ten football or BG and the MAC, it isn't much of a decision in my opinion.

Yes, we saw something in Harrell and he played his way into a Big 10 offer. Nothing to be done about it.

Are they still called the "Big 10?" I could have sworn I saw an article on ESPN that they had officially changed their name to "OSU, PSU and the 9 dwarfs."

Until basketball season when its IU, MSU, OSU, PU and a group of pushovers. Why don't they call it what it is, Big 2 1/2, and you could care less 8 1/2.

I realize that most of their games have been played on home floors a la OSU, but take a look at he overall records of this league so far...last I looked, NINE of them were undefeated, and either one or two had one loss. I think this is a better basketball conf. than it is FB. But it DOES make a diff. when you play nearly all your OOC games on the home floor.

How do you lose an entire recruit?? It's not like his inconspicuous as a set of car keys!
