We put a team away!
Great game and it's great to see some great play by seniors and underclassmen.

Let's view this game as the start of a new future. I agree this has been one of the most anti-climatic rivalry games I've experienced with BGSU, yet I'd prefer indifference than yet another win by TCC in the glass bowl.

So we only pretend like it's a rivalry game? We beat UT at their joint and some can't feel like celebrating for even a few moments.
Maybe it's another game on the schedule for some, but for many it's a great day. Saturday we can go back to grousing about coaches and disappointments.
Tonight we party! The seniors get to leave after whooping the Rockets in the Glass Bowl.
Well done Falcons!
Ay Ziggy!
GO BG! Wait 'til next year!

I really hate to say it, but I feel the same way. I am always excited to see any BG game on tv since I am so far away. But today, I turned the game on and fell asleep for most of the first half. I couldn't get excited for the game, even though it was against Toledo. And when I woke up and watched the second half, I still wasn't excited. I really wish it wasn't like this. Even when I was there and Blackney was coaching, I never had this feeling. I want the excitement that I have for both basketball teams to come back when I watch the football team, win or lose. I never thought I would see the day where I didn't get excited for a BG game of any kind. Here's to hoping that it comes back before the start of next year.

This team should be 9-3 or 10-2, perhaps nationally ranked and on their way to the MACC. But, we're 6-6 and hoping for a lightning to somehow strike and land us a bowl bid.
So...I guess even a 38-10 shellacking of the Rockettes (giving us a 75-20 2 year advantage over them) isn't going to be met with the level of enthusiasm it deserves....and that may be the saddest commentary on the most frustrating season of Falcon football I can recall

I don't know what the deal w/ the team was but it's almost like they were playing either 1) because brandon knew that his job was at stake or 2) because the seniors said screw it to the game plan and got the team to play their own game. Either way, the team was excellent this afternoon/evening and just dominated the game...congrats Seniors on beating the Rockets in the glAss bowl!
btw...when was the last time that BG beat UT in the glAss bowl anyway? I'd look it up, but I'm hoping that someone on here knows that right off hand
I want to say sometime in the mid- to early-90s.

Since TG and factman are not availalbe...I will take a stab at it. I seem to remember a lot of hoopla that we hadn't won at the glAZZ Bowl since 1994.Strouse wrote:I don't know what the deal w/ the team was but it's almost like they were playing either 1) because brandon knew that his job was at stake or 2) because the seniors said screw it to the game plan and got the team to play their own game. ROLL ALONG!
I had a blast, saw some fine BG friends at the tailgate again, probably made a few more in the stands and watched BG romp the living crap out of the spRockets. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...just TRY to wipe this smile off my face.
In fact, on the way out, I'm pretty sure I hear a wise Falcon proclaim, "THIS IS MY HOUSE NOW!" from the 50 yard line. Amen.
GREAT JOB FALCONS!!!
