Larry Kehres

Post by MAC Falcon »

Possibly our next head coach? Kehres has indicated that for the right Division-I opportunity he would be willing to make a move. I believe the last D-1 offer he had was Kent State but the did not make the right offer. His current salary is upwards of 120k and we would need to significantly increase that.

The upside is that Kehres is 58 years old and a move to a D-1 program like BG might be the type of move to a place where he can have a nice run and end his career with a D-1 program.

No.

He has made it known that he is in a spot where he is comfortable and happy. I'm not sure where you have heard he would make the jump to a Div I position, but I'm sure that position would have become open by now.

He's staying at Mt Union.

Period.

End of the story.

Would LOVE to see LK as the BG coach but as RUIT said, the man is very comfortable in Alliance. He plays in the NCAA Div 3 title game almost every year....and loves it there. When Mt Union loses a game, it's news.

LK is a man of integrity and would be a great coach at any level but I think he loves where he's at. It's a nice change from the usual coaches running after the money.

To add, I would love to see Kehres in brown and orange, I just don't see it.

Is there a chance? Sure, just as there is a chance that I could hit the MegaMillions. LK has roots at BG, doesn't he?

It would be great, but he has his 'gig'.

it was 5 years ago but he said then he would consider leaving for the right offer.

I know it is a stretch but he is exactly what we need!

Maybe alot of wishful thinking on my part.

I was at JJ Huddle today and saw this. I want Larry Kehres as much as the next guy but I have heard no talk about him being our "top candidate".

Hmm....I know / knew (I guess) his daughter, she went to Wittenberg and played volleyball with an ex of mine.

Really nice guy but I would prefer a young guy looking to make a name for himself more so than a 58 year old man who prob. does not want to leave Mount.

This mans record is so video game-like. Unbelievable! Would love to see him come here but he would have an entire different road to travel. The man's not used to losses.
