BAD NEWS!!

Post by factman »

I heard from a reliable source today that BOTH Mike Ward and Matt Campbell are headed to Toledo, and both as co-coordinators. If this is true, I think GC has made a BAD mistake not offering some incentive to keep these guys in BG and he better get it in gear getting a HC at BG or he will lose a complete recruiting class!

I thought Campbell was already hired at Wyoming? I guess he would not have to worry about moving.

Why are we concerned about losing assistants that were part of the mediocrity of Brandon?

That would be bad news. :( I don't want to see Ward at UT and as someone else said, didn't Campbell accept a gig at WY?

Two reasons immediately come to mind...

1) Sometimes it's just the head coach, rather than the entire staff. Who knows what these guys are capable of under a stronger leader?

2) Hello... Toledo? Do we want them knowing our secrets? ;)

You obviously haven't been around BG football for very long or know these two guys. Mike Ward and his family are more "Falcons" than most people I know, but without a choice, he certainly has to do what is best for his family's well being! Makes me want to VOMIT!

The collar is getting tighter everyday on GC to make a great choice! This might even be a career making type decision for him.

Yes, I know Ward is a BG man through and through, but this program needed an overhaul. You know it and I know it. It's sad to see these guys go, but everyone is replaceable. I am sure that coaches that are just as capable will be found.

Mediocrity of Brandon? 31-17 MAC record in his tenure. I hope our next coach is "mediocre."

Which secrets? The unpredictable plays we call when it's 3rd and long (Either swing pass for minus 3 yards or quarterback draw directly into the d-line?) ;-) Or the secrets of how to recruit guys who think every credit card is theirs, regardless of the name on it? ;-)

I'm sure the secrets will change a bit with a new coach!

Nice joke about the credit card issue. I suppose it's your fault if someone who works for you gets in trouble weekend, huh? We'll blame you for your workers' problems. And regarding the "secrets"? I think it's the secrets that made us average 29 points a game the last 6 years....those secrets.

Dude. It was tongue-in-cheek. I thought it was obvious, but apparently not.

And honestly, a football coach needs to have reign over his players on and off the field. So while you can't be with them every second of the day, you better leave a damn good, long-lasting message.

And P.S. 31-17 is a D.

Dude..there are always going to be people in life that don't listen or conform. For Brandon it was a very minute percentage of his players getting in trouble over his 6 years. Dude....
