What new choices for Head coaches? What is deadline date?

What coaches should we consider? I would like to see coaches from similar conferences that use our offense scheme. Examples are Tulsa from USA or even Boise State from WAC or Cincinnati Big East or SEC schools.

What is deadline for hiring new coach? Without loosing recruits that Ward and Campbell recruited and not allowing them to go to Toledo. I would recommend 2 weeks max and the coach needs to start immediately even the salary is higher.

The salary needs to be high enough to bring in something proven and the staff be paid more than what we normally pay to create a cohesive group for the first couple of years. We can't waith for three years for a winning record with all of the new buildings and alumni opening their pockets because of the winning football program.

Spend the money to make the money, since we are not going to a bowl this year.

Our deadline date is when the AD finds the right person for the job.

Do it right the first time so we don't have to do it all over again because we hired the wrong guy. And we should allow a head coach to use an offensive scheme that they know how to use effectively.

Here are the three that I would like to see interviewed and hopefully one is chosen:
1. Dan Mullen. Look at the offense they have put together this year. They play to the strength of their team, and do not try to engage in the fantasy passing numbers of the Big12.

2. Luke Fickell. An Ohio man who can recruit Ohio well. May be able to improve a better than thought of defense.

3. Ron English. A fiery coach who may have the same motivational level as Urbie. My gripe is have you seen Louisville's defense? They make BG's look really good.

I don't like Studs, because I want a guy who wants more than to be the head coach at BG. No offense to anyone here, but BG is not the pinnacle of the coaching profession. A coach who wants more is willing to work that much harder. One other and more personal reason is that I don't like the heavier weight coaches like Studs or Toledo Tom. They show up to practice looking like that, what message does that send to the kids who they are trying to tell to hit the weight room harder.

Stop falling into the trap that a good coordinator = a good HC. Brandon was an excellent coordinator.

I would welcome a head coach with a defensive lean to them. I guess I'm old fashioned where defense, special teams, and the ability to run the ball (with a running back) is just as important as putting up insane offensive statistics.
