First of all, congrats to each and every one of these teams. I hope they represent the MAC well and I will be pulling for each one of them to win.
But I'm actually curious if there is anyone on this board who truly would have thought before the beginning of the season that if five teams from the MAC were going to go bowling that BG wouldn't be one of them? I would’ve almost bet the house on it. What a truly disappointing season. And sadly, I think it’s going to get worse before if gets better.

How does 44-30 overall...31-17 in the MAC look now? Better yet, what about 24-26 overall and 18-14 in the MAC from 2005-2008?
The fact that this year's team didn't make a bowl game when the Conference got five bids might be the biggest vote of confidence we could give Greg Christopher and his decision.

Posted all over the bottom line on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPNEWS.
Also, Turner Gill interviewed for the Syracuse job on Thursday, one day before the MAC Championship. Found that interesting as well

So what...last year we were predicted last and finished up in a bowl. What about that?

How did that bowl game work out?

About as well as Brandon's supporters did in making an argument for keeping him.
You could say those of us calling for his job scored as often against their defense as Tulsa did against Brandon's.

I heard BG did get offered to play in a bowl game but because we didn't have a coach GC had to decline the offer; can anyone else verify this?

What do you think the odds are that BG would have gone bowling if Balls Tate had accepted the Humanitarian Bowl offer before being spanked by Buffalo?

GC declared the season over when he fired GB. They might have gotten an offer, but frankly I don't blame him for saying no. Some will argue another 63 point blow-out is worth being in the game for whatever PR value they think such a disgrace has.
I can't see how any game that the team could have attended would have ended in less than a total embarrassment.

Who would we have replaced in a bowl spot? Not NIU.

I think the bowl people were looking at us because of us beating Pitt and holding Boise to 7 possessions and 7 punts in the second half of that game. They also wanted the team that beat Ohio 28-3 and Toledo 38-10. They weren't concerned over the loss to Eastern (Central gave up over 50 points to them and lost to them like we did)

I don't think we replace anybody. I think the five MAC teams in bowls are the most worthy of those that could go.
