Yesterday's banquet....

Jake and I were at the event. I think all the coaches were there except GB, Ward and Campbell. Usually the banquet goes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours but yesterday's was over in about 2 1/2. Obviously, there was a feeling of disappointment and frustration of the season but all carried themselves very well.
One thing that I won't soon forget...John Haneline talked about leaving with no regrets...leaving everything on the field. He said his only regret was leaving BG without a title ring. He chose BG to win a title and not getting the job done is something he'll never be able to forget. I felt badly for this group of seniors....they are a special class. I talked to as many as I could but the place emptied out pretty quickly.
Jake and I hit the Doyt on the way out of town. We walked thru the place and sat in our seats for a few minutes. I hate leaving BG after the season has ended.
It was a solemn way to remember what could have been in 2008...
On the bright side, we have a new leader in place so let's get ready to rock and roll.
GOOD LUCK SENIORS AND THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING TO BE FALCONS!!!!
