Gregg Brandon as OC at Florida?

Just speculating ... doesn't Florida have an opening at OC now that Mullen is at Mississippi State? How about Gregg Brandon taking over his old role for his old coach with an infinite level of talent to work with? Just imagine more Florida QBs turning out like Tebow or Josh Harris surrounded by SEC talent ... that's really scary for other SEC teams.

Right....Brandon runs the Falcons into the ground, and gets a higher profile job? I bet the OC at Florida made more than Brandon did as a head coach....I suppose it's not completely impossible, but I highly doubt Brandon will be headed to Florida anytime soon unless he's taking his kids to Disney World....

I've heard that Billy Gonzalez may get the OC position.
I've also heard Brandon takes over the OC position at Florida and that he is going to join Dan Mullen and be his OC at Mississippi State.
I guess we'll know when he takes a job.

I also heard the OC position at Mississippi State rumor from a good source.

I heard he wants to stay in BG and is interested in the OC job at BGHS.

GB would be a great "get" for an SEC program. He didn't work out as a head coach, but that doesn't take away the very good things he has done as an OC.
I wish him well.

However GB made it clear that he has lost his aggressiveness and creativity....Urban could well be better off with Gary B....

Brandon as OC at Mississippi State would make sense to me. That's about as good a job as I think he'd deserve, and he could use it as a stepping stone if he's successful. Florida OC just seems like a bit of a stretch to me....

Rumor is that UVA is looking at him to take over as OC (

I'm only familiar with his work as a HC, so what do you all think about him as an OC? I know he was OC for J5 and put up great numbers then, but how much of the success of the O then is because of Urban and how much because GB?

I think coach Brandon did a good job as an OC, but honestly don't think he's a world beater either. You cannot help but look at the rest of Urban's career and see he's had great offenses everywhere else he's been w/o Brandon as well.
Sometimes it's tough to determine where the HC ends and the OC begins. That idiology applies to Brandon's work as a HC as well. Were our various OC's under Brandon not as good as he was in the role, or was there carry-over from the HC that made the offense less effective?
Tough to say, really, but I do think Brandon did a good job as OC for us, and will likely do a good job in that role for whoever hires him. I don't, however, expect him to have the same success as OC that he had in his stint here. Urban had far more to do with that success than anyone else, IMO.

I can see GB at UF or MSU...

I just can't see him at that position at UF, but a QB coach or some other offensive coach yes. MSU I can definitely see him being an OC. Mullens needs a guy with a similar philosophy on offense. I just don't see MSU being able to compete with UF for those same players.

I agree.
