Aren't ya'll rooting for the MAC to win some bowl games? I'm watching CMU right now, and I'd lke to see CMU pull it out. We (the MAC) should own this bowl!

I guess I've always just assumed the MAC was better than the Sun Belt but I may have to rethink that after tonight. Uninspiring performance by the Chippewas in front of the home crowd tonight and a poor close to their season, losing their last 3.
The Falcons have a chance to redeem the MAC in the season opener vs. Troy next year.

Losing to 6-6 Fla Atlantic is not the way I thought the MAC bowl season would start. Ugh.
CMU - not so good

I went to FAU in the late 80s. They had no basketball or football team then..

How have we sunken so low? Lack of inspiration? Whatever... CMU was not a good team last night. Not sure if waking up and replaying the game would make a difference. The teams appeared fairly evenly matched. Yuk!
Was this?

Was Fla. Atlantic the school that BG grad Chuck Perry founded, and that Doyt went "South" for to be the A.D.?
Either way, The Chips, and especially their superstar QB, did NOT look sharp at all last nite..Very disappointing way to represent the MAC...It's one thing to lose a close game to Purdue ala last year, but they truly looked FLAT last nite, with the exception of their return guy. And even though Ray Bentley is a CMU grad, I thought he was on the money with his criticisms of the CMU coaching staff late in the game.

That's Florida International.

NIU's skill players looked as bad as any I've seen all year. It will be embarrasing for them to watch game film.

Hate to be a realist/pessimist, but the MAC is going to put up a doughnut in Bowl Games this season. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look good.

Last I looked last nite, WMU was getting totally "spanked" by Rice... 34-7...don't know what if wound up, but the MAC is sure NOT covering itself with anykind of glory this bowl season...then again, neither has the B-11 so far as I know.

To my knowledge the Big10 is 0-2. Wisconsin got spanked by FSU, and Northwestern lost in OT to Mizzou. Not sure if I'm missing another game that's already been played or not. I think Minny, PSU, OSU, MSU, and Iowa are yet to play.

I picked all MAC and Big 10 teams in my pick'em out of sheer hope and pride, both of which I'm lacking today when it comes to both conferences.

WMU gets toasted by Rice, 38-14...I watched it on the NFL Network and WMU was down 38-0 before scoring 2 junk TD's late.
0-3. UGH. After 0-3 last year, this is bad.

Rice is probably the best opponent for a MAC team with the possible exception of Tulsa. I think Buffalo is the only hope. Ball State is going to get rocked a la BG in 85 was it?
