Congratulations to Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators for winning their second national championship in three years. It looked like Oklahoma had the better team tonight but Urban and Tebow willed them to victory. I think Urban outcoached Bob Stoops.

What gave you the impression that Oklahoma was the better team?

I'm glad the Gators won, but the constant fellatio of Tim Tebow from Fox was just too much. I understand the star player being the centerpiece, but it was honestly embarrassing the way Thom Brennaman and Charles Davis slurped him. They were even worse than Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson in the SEC Championship Game.

Nice job Urban. Maybe someday thanks to him they'll be calling BGSU the cradle of coaches instead of Miami U.

The fact thst they stopped themselves more than Florida's defense stopped them. Two turnovers inside the 10 in the first half cost them the game. The last interception by Florida was a fluke. The Gators got the bounces tonight. These two teams are very even.

I could see the coaches switching sidelines and Urban putting Oklahoma on top. He just has that ability to inspire players.

Agreed. My dad even said they needed to get off their knees, and he is the calmest, easy going person I know. But you will have that with any game like this. The funny thing is, Bradford played just as good. He just lost.

At least we didn't have to see and hear about Mrs Meyers incesantly, like we did in the Utah years!

For Fox's centerpiece of college football this year, those announcers were just plain bad. And that had nothing to do with the Tebow love fest.

I thought both teams were incredible --- the quickness, the speed was just overhelming, and supports my notion that speed kills. And I t hought t hat both QBs were sensational; I'd never be able to chose one over the other. -- In spite of all that, Oklahoma's mistakes took the game away from 'em. Without the goofs, they would have probably won; I thought they were the better of the two teams.

The FOX announcers just reaffirmed the exellence Mussberger and Herbie bring to a broadcast. The FOX color guy sounded like an NFL analyst and I hate all NFL analyst. Every game that I watch that doesn't have Herbstreit make me only appreciate him more.

Agreed, they were flat out terrible. The down before OU got stuffed on 4th near the goalline, they were already raving about how ballsy it was for them to go for it...it was 3rd down, and they started talking about what a great stop it was. Then they're like, Oh, NOW it's 4th down and they're going for it...

I don't mind the constant Tebow lovefest that these games turn into, because the guy deserves it. He's one of the best college players I've ever seen, and he's being coached by the best college coach I've ever seen. I have no problem with them harping on it, even if it does get old, it's still the truth.

Good game, and congrats to Urban. What a phenomenal coach, I'm just glad that we got to watch him up close for 2 years.

Congratulations to Urban and the Gators. The best team won, hands down. For that defense to hold them to 14 points is ridiculous.

Yes, Oklahoma had some bad turnovers and foolishly went for it from the 2 or 3, but give the Gators their props too.

That being said, I see Tebow and Harvin coming back again and winning another one next year. This next recruiting class is nuts and they will continue to reload and reload and reload. I think they want to be remembered as the best ever and UF has never had an undefeated season, 2 Heismans for Tebow, etc . . . Lot of history left there.

It also gets Urban closer to the next QB phenom coming in 2010, Trey Burton who has already committed.

With that, there's only one man in football that can slow it all down . . . JERRY JONES.

Think about it, he's an Arkansas alum. Petrino as great a coach as he is, won't get it rolling with Urban around. He just built a $1B+ stadium and needs a marquee coach to fill it. Wade Phillips will not be the coach in the first game of the new Cowboys Stadium.

Shannahan sure? and there are a few others, but very few could come in with the resume, credentials and have instant command of that locker room like Urban.

Urban was just on the Dan Dakitch show. A lot of BG talk. Urban called Dan his best friend.

To be honest even though they weren't the best I definitely enjoyed the reprieve from Moooooseburger during the Fox BCS telecasts. I cannot stand Musberger I think it was just kind of nice to hear different voices.

It was kind of funny when Thom thought it was 4th down on 3rd down...

I like listening to Thom do Reds games on 700 WLW and Fox Sports but I am not a fan of his or Fox's football coverage.
