I have heard that Paul Ferraro has been in town to interview for the DC job. Paul is a current coach with the Vikings, but was at BG with Blackney. I played OL when he was our DC, and he had some great Defenses. If you want intensity, Ferraro is your man!

Well, I hope that's the case. Any coordinator who becomes an NFL coordinator has got to be considered very good. And, he's an old BG guy. Loyalty, possibly???

He was at BG from 91-98. He had some good defenses. He is taking a lot of heat for the Vikings special teams this year. I think he would be a good hire.

I totally agree with IronFalcon. He was an intense individual. Very respected by the players, and a guy you really tried not to tick off. Would be nice to see that attitude and mentality return.

Yeah, the Vikings special teams are pretty special this year, in the special Eddy connotation of special.

Hey Iron Falcon, just noticed your signature. "Best ride in the park" Huh? With the reference to Batson, I'm assuming you played toward the end of Ferraro's BG coaching stint?

Paul would be a GREAT DC! I knew him when he was here previously and I know he had some interest in the head coaching job too. I think this has the making of a TREMENDOUS coaching staff at BG.

That is the best news I've heard all day. The car needs $700 in repair, the cat has to go to the vet that will cost at least $300....but dang, this would be a great hire. Life's pretty good...
IF77,
Is your dad's name Frank by chance?

I love the background and specs on these Ass't Coaches we are gathering.
They all seem to be top shelf, experienced people.
My only question: How in the hell can we afford them $$$$ ?????

Getting them in for one year might be easy, if some of them have been let go "late in the game". But I would ask the same question you did on how we can get them to stay to year 2 and beyond.
A couple of them seem to be older, more experienced coaches, so that may play into our hands a bit, and the Ferraro story would benefit us, potentially, because he may know what BG has and is comfortable with.

I knew him pretty well during his time at BG. It would be interesting to see him back. His defenses could stop the word of god at times. I would say his defenses held on longer than the offense did as the Blackney decline began. I think with where the defense is now, if he can resume old form in the college ranks, he could turn them into a true terror in the MAC.

That is a damn shame.
