ESPN'S Take

Jacobs, who came into the game completing 69 percent of his passes, never looked sharp, short-hopping several throws.
He completed 36 of 60 passes for 415 yards and four touchdowns.
ESPN.COM had this to say. As much as I am disgusted after watching the game, reading this had me feel good about the next 2 years. Go Falcons, we still deserve a Bowl Game.

I like Omar too but those stats are totally meaningless when you get manhandled the way we did in the 2nd half.

Sorry AJ. That's not entirely wrong. Many of those 36 of 60 came when the game was decided and UT was conceding the short pass. In the guts of the game, he was just a little over 50% and did short hop several guys, and overthrew two wide open guys for TDs.
Don't get me wrong--he has been great for us this year, and generally dominant. Tonight, he contributed, along with many others, to the defeat.
The future has looked bright for four years. When will the now be bright?

NIU and BG will both go bowling but the Huskies should get the better game.

I don't think so. Same overall record and NIU beat BG head to head. That doesn't mean a bowl won't take BG over NIU, but that is how the bowls work. BG has more history, has gotten more national pub the last couple years and has last year's bowl game working in their favor. I think both teams will be going somewhere. The MAC will get four teams to bowls.

NIU Deserves A Bowl Game This Year...But The Point I Made was to try to look at the bright side. We Had Our Rivals Under Our Foot And decided to tell them our plans instead of just finsishing them off. BGSU tonite was like a bad guy in a film. However, ESPN.com made me feel a lilttle better by saying shutting down our offense was 415 yards and 4 tds.

I do not think we deserve it more than you. In fact, we deserve it less than you. You deserve the third bid. If there's a fourth, I hope we get it, if for no other reason than we can obviously use the practice.

Our offense deserves a bid, our defense deserves nothing. Both sides of your team deserve it. Tough call, you guys got a lot better since we played u, lucky we faced u in the beginning of the season imo.

i was excited at the half, but i knew games are only over when the 4th quarter is over. unfortunatly, your team couldn't put the nail in the coffin. and how about that weak fumble by your #12? ugh! @#$%@%

Every one of our players deserve a bowl bid for the work they put in this year, but the coaches are another story to me.

It reminded me of what happened two years ago up there. Almost identical.
