BGSU....IN OR OUT OF THE BOWLS?

I really don't know right now? I still think we have a shot, but we didn't help ourselves tonight at all. I've got to believe we may still need teams like Nebraska, Arkansas, Syracuse and Northwestern to lose this weekend. These are all teams that with a win, could snatch up a would-be bowl for us following our loss. I think it's now 50-50 for BG. A win would have gotten us in. This loss, now we wait and see.

Still In... Motor City most likely... I think GMAC will snatch up Toledo, who will win the MACC... and the Motor City will take us back. I think the loss tonight keeps us out of the bigger bowls like the Houston, Emerald or Silicon Valley though.

Only one win over a team with a winning record can't help. As I said elsewhere, we deserve the league's fourth bowl pick, but NIU should be ahead of us.

are you on crack? motor city won't take you. they'll take Miami or Toledo. Thats just the way it is. And the way it will be. You best hope for the other bowls

Motor City, really?? That is probably the only bowl game I could go to for financial reasons. I can't see spending a grand on flights and hotels for my fiance and I after tonight's embarassment. I'll save up for Madison and Boise.

I think we'll end up backing into a bowl game. I don't care which one it is....Cole Magner deserves to walk off the field in his final game at BG as a winner.

What do you think a bowl in Houston or California is going to take us? Miami had piss poor attendance this year and I definitely believe the GMAC will take UT. (yes going against the rumor i heard and posted about earlier w/ us in the GMAC)

I think a fourth bowl will open up to the MAC.

Thanks to South Carolina and Clemson for acting like cavemen.

What was the attendance last year at the Motor City? BG came off a loss to Miami, but BG was still the West champs. I think it will be tough to get people to go to Detroit after tonight.

It was something like 51,000...it was a record and it was also mostly orange. I feel horrible now, but putting things into perspective, I am not quite sure if I feel much worse than after the drubbing Miami gave us last year on our own field....might actually feel the same to be honest.

I remember thinking that we didn't deserve a bid and wondering if people will show up to a bowl and I am certainly thinking the same thing now. I think the fans will welcome a third and final shot at redemption though after we have our time to sulk.

I think we have a shot at getting a bowl bid if the MAC gets four bowls. After tonight, I would say we would be the fourth best team in the MAC behind the division winners (UT & Miami) and Northern Illinois. If the MAC gets a fourth bowl bid, it should be ours. We'll see.

If you saw the interview with the rep from the Silicon Valley Football Classic (not Bowl :? ), it appeared to me that she dang near announced an invitation to Bowling Green in the middle of the game. I think they still would like to take us since we have such a wide open offense that is fun to watch, but they might feel some pressure to take NIU now instead.
