DirecTV or Dish?

Post by dstubb »

Ok fellow sports fans...I am thinking of moving to satellite - I am at the "end of the line" geographically and my picture quality keeps getting worse and worse.

For the sports-minded person - which satellite service is better? Does one have *real* Tivos?

I would appreciate any input, tips, etc. I have never been a satellite customer.

Thanks.

I should add that in our house we primarily watch college football and basketball.

I see that DirecTV only has ESPNU on the highest price package. Not cool.

I asked the same question here:

In doing more research on DirecTV, you can get the Sports Pack added to most packages for $8, which includes ESPNU.

I've had Dish Network for a few years now and love it. So many ESPN and other sports channels....ESPN U and CBS College Sports Channel are on in the Nest all the time.

Either way, both blow cable outta the water.

I love Directv. The Sunday Ticket was the selling point for me. Other than that, I think they provide almost all the same channels. I think you will be fine either way. Both products are better than cable.
