Nice. PA wrestling is probably the best in the state, although Ohio and a few others are close.

Tough to argue PA wrestling is the best in Pennsylvania.

Hey Ryan, didn't you already smoke somebody about PA being the best wrestling state? Anybody would be rather foolish to try to argue that one with you ...

With writing like that you'll find a job in no time.

Ryan, I'm sure you saw this coming, but The Blade has already become a shadow of its former self. First, they reduced the width of the paper to go from six columns to five (I think). Now they have combined the "Second News Section", which was more local news and the obits with the first news section, which was National, World and editorials. The Sports page is down to two and a half pages of stories and half a page of standings/results/transactions/odds/etc.

I carpool from BG to Findlay most days and I read the paper on the ride to work. Timing was usually pretty good that I could finish reading the paper about right as we got to work. Now there is so little stuff in the paper, I'm done by the time we get to N. Baltimore.

And the obits (3 pages) are now as much as any other news section. How long will The Blade last? 2 months? 6 months?

I still take The Blade with me to the bathroom, but now I can pretty much get through it during a routine No. 1.

I'm guessing your subscription price hasn't been reduced since the paper shrunk.

I've got family that works there still, so maybe it'd be better until they retired....but I think the Blade going out of business would be a blessing for Toledo. The Publisher is an ego maniacal punk who has abused the public trust by using the newspasper as his personal cudgel to beat down the city and those who disagree with his "vision".

Seeing him lose that bully pulpit would be a great first step towards rebuilding Toledo....

No, but I may just go on-line and tell them I haven't gotten my paper for the last three weeks and have them extend my subscription.

They still control the 'effing cable system up there.

That said, they spoke well of Hockey, still good to have some press around for now.

Apparently, the Block brother that runs the cablesystem doesn't care for John Robinson Block either...
