Great to see we do get Boise St in the Doyt this season.

But holy crap, Oct 24 is our last game on a Saturday. That sucks. And another game on a Friday night in November, at 5:30!!!!

Upon further review, I just realized we only have three home Saturday games. :x

This is my favorite schedule of the last 10 years or so. I think it is well blanced and the OC games are against 2 BCS teams and 1 power mid-major. I also love how the schedule balances home and away games. W don't have a month of away games in the early part of the season. Overall it looks good to me.

I do like the mix of teams we are playing, just hate those freakin' week night games in November. Just so they can be on ESPNU.

Looks like we'll be headin up for the Boise State game, two weeks before the wedding, why not??!!

Then wedding day pits her alma mater against mine!!! Pretty cool!

So Boise and Toledo games are probable for sure us!

Schedule day is almost as much fun as NCAA Football video game release day- at least with the video game you get to focus on a release date, schedule day is seemingly a surprise.

I don't mind the week night games to much and i'm not counting the Friday games as week night. We open on a Thursday so that will be a challange for students and the band because of classes but it is early enough that it won't kill anyone. November is where everything gets crazy. I see we have halloween weekend off. then we play on a Tuesday and Thursday night but thankfully those are away games and won't hurt our attendance numbers. The last 2 games of the season are Friday night games and are late enough to hopefully avoid Ohio high school football. BG should be able to host a couple of play off games as well. We need that for some extra revenue. With the schedule in hand I would hope someone in the department is contacting local high schools to fill as many Friday nights with high school games as possible.

I stand corrected. It looks like the state champiionship games were held the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving in 2008. Our schedule should allow us to host the first 2 or 3 weekends with no problem and if BG is selected as a tournament site late in the tournament it would have to be a game on Saturday 11/21. With the field turf it will not be a problem.

I like the sked overall....Non Conf and MAC alike. I won't be able to make the Missouri, Buffalo or Miami games for sure. Would like to make the road trip over to Muncie for Ball State. Good to see us on ESPN in one form or another at least 4 times.

Oooh! How did I miss that one!??!!?

I'm pulling for a noon kick so I can save a vacation day for a home game weekend.

I'm guessing Homecoming will be Oct. 3, with the dreaded "Family Weekend" on Oct. 24?

No home games during the mysterious "Fall Break", though we get the expected argument of the UT game being while the students are out of the dorms.

I like it, overall, though that 5:30 Friday game is a bit ridiculous.

I like that it did work out that way this year. I was hoping to make a trip out of it with my fiancee, since I'm planning to live in Knoxville by then, we can go to my parents' for Thanksgiving, then up to BG the day after for the Toledo game.

This is an awesome schedule but.... an extremely difficult one... Troy is probably the second toughest game we will play all year... In my opinion it might be our toughest next to Boise considering the losses Mizzu had this year. we are probably catching them at a decent time... I dont like the Friday games either however I like that they are late in the year if the team plays well they will bring in big crowds...

Excellent. We finally get 6 home games and we have one of them on a true weeknight, one of them at the ridiculous 5:30 start time that is nearly impossible for us working fools to get to kickoff for, and one that is the Friday after Thanksgiving. The Friday after thanksgiving works great for me and traditionally the attendance on that date has been great, so that's not a big deal. But 5:30 on a Friday we may as well play at 2:30 AM on a Wednesday. Apparently the piss poor attendance last year to that game, combined with all of our letters to Mr. Christopher, did jack squat to make them realize how asinine that is.

I like the mix of teams we play and whatnot. I like having 6 home games, as well. But having a Tuesday home game and a 5:30 Friday home game really irritate me. I guess I can kinda sorta deal with the Tuesday thing, but kicking off at freaking 5:30 on a Friday is about as retarded as it comes. You gain very little in the way of temperature by doing it an hour and a half earlier and you make it a royal PITA for anyone to actually attend the game. As I said last year about that game there aren't that many of us willing to put up with that PITA to get there...sometimes it's like they're TRYING to see how difficult they can make it to get to the games...

And as I've said numerous times, hammb... ESPNU should not dictate our start time. A game on ESPN or the Deuce, maybe. ESPNU, so 1,400 people can watch it on TV is no reason to start a game at 5:30 on a weeknight.

Though I also noticed the game at Miami(OH) on a Thursday... that works nicely with my schedule, too. :D

Also, Ball State has the BG game as their "Family Weekend", which kicked off at noon last year. Nice!
