Good for them!
I wish them both the best of luck! UDFAs face an uphill battle but on average each NFL roster will carry around 1-2 of them a year, so it's certainly not out of the question!

Does anyone recall that hit AS put on Wisconsin's QB during his freshman year? One of the best I have EVER seen a Falcon make in a big game.

You're 100 percent right. I have it on good authority that the BG News holds a meeting every Sunday where the editors sit around and try to predict the news for the upcoming week. At first they had Briggs going to the Panthers, but a majority vote overturned that decision and the paper decided to cross their fingers and go with San Francisco.
Ya know, you'd think the student paper would command a little more respect after all the videos, blog posts, etc ... they have given BG fans. And if they make a mistake once in a while, so be it. What they do is unique in that it's viewed by the public. Were you perfect at your job at 20 years old? I doubt it. Feel fortunate that your performance wasn't scrutinized by the public.

Great points, Ryan. These kids are learning the trade...this is where mistakes are supposed to happen and I think they do a pretty damn good job.

As the son of a career newspaper man, I have it on good authority that even the pros mess it up once in a while.

Oh yeah...I could hear it in the upper deck at Camp Randall. I believe that made some SportsCenter highlights.

I've made some legendary mistakes during my decades on the print side, the worst of which were made
after I got out of school.

Yes, that was a monster hit. Stocco didn't have a clue what hit him.
