Is there any word on a possible bowl bid?? If so, where? Are we still playing the "Wait and See" game?

Root for LSU and Colorado tomorrow. Either way I still think we'll end up with one, just not sure right now.

I actually called the Silicon Valley Bowl. I used the number from their website. The lady I spoke with said that they will not be making any anoucement until after the MAC Championship. I am not sure about the Indepedence Bowl. There is still some football that needs to be played throughout the country. So hurry up and wait. If we hear anything it won't be until after the MACC game. It will be a weeks worth of hell.

Personally I would be surprised if we get a bid at all. It would be great if we did though.

Regarding the SVFC...

Quote from Thursday's Blade: "Had BG won Tuedsay, indications were that the team would have received an immdeiate bowl bid." Given that the SVFC had a rep there and the way her interview went on ESPN, I am pretty sure that that is who the writer is referring to. I still think they would like to take BG, but will have to wait to see how all the other slots shake out first.

No, it was not the Silicon Valley Bowl. It was the GMAC bowl that we would have been invited to right away with a win over UT. That is from a very reliable source.

That's right, it was GMAC with a win against Toledo. Without the win, we're rooting for other teams to help us.

I still think we have a shot at getting a bowl bid, but I also know some of these non MAC tie-in bowls would loved to have had a ranked team come in. Let's face it, a bowl like the SVC that usually has Pac 10 schools, if it's bringing in a MAC school this year, they could at least pump up the fact it was a nationally ranked school. A Top-25 BG team at 9-2 looked a lot better than an unranked 8-3 team. Our loss to UT has put us on the back-burner for now. The question is, will we stay there or get off of it?
