After reading all the links BGSU33 was kind enough to post about the upcoming season, it's anybody's game in the MAC. I think Coach Clawson brings in the discipline for a winning team...less than 92 days to go.

Is it just me, or is it even less worth it to read MAC predictions than it usually is?
"Expert Predictions" are typically a joke. They pay attention to the BCS conferences, but they are oblivious to the mid-majors.
What's more, there has been so much turnover in the MAC this year (both coaches and rosters) that I seriously doubt anybody knows how this year will turn out for the MAC.
Even if they somehow managed to make it to the spring practices of every team in the MAC, it wouldn't help them guage how freshman talent will pan out. This year, more than usual, I think a lot of teams in the MAC will be making immediate use of their freshman class.
To be honest, I've found that when they say we are going to do well, we have a terrible season. Last year, Sports Illustrated put us on their list of top 10 most likely teams to bust the BCS...and look how well that turned out. What's more, the times in the past that our team has been dominate, they started the season predicted to stink. In 2003, they started the season ranked in the 50's by Athlon.
As far as I'm concerned, the lower our initial prediction the better.
If anybody sees an article predicting us to finish 120th, please let me know.
Thanks,
Go Falcons!

I agree about the lower predictions. Hell, put us 7th in the East pre season..I don't care. It's a starting point...finishing is the name of the game and we definitely didn't finish last year.
I cannot wait until 3 months from tonight...it all gets going against Troy.

What Freak said. I am not taking any stock in what any of all the so-called experts are saying. Geez, I've already seen us projected from 2nd to 6th in the MAC East. I guess we just need to settle things on the field. I'm optimistic about this season, but I'm not going to get excited to the point of Cavs fans.

We all know how that turned out. Sorry, had to get one more jab in.

I really hope I can get to a few games this season...I miss BG, the Doyt, Pollyeyes...maybe a quick trip is in order...anyone want to start planning a "Tailgate Practice" on a Saturday in July or something like that???
