My only thought is that I'd like to have a link to the article.

I need one of you English majors to decode what this sentence is saying:

"...don’t be surprised if this unit doesn’t average more than 27.7 points per game in ’09"

Two 'nots' and then a 'more'. Isn't that illegal or something?

I think it's saying, if I understand correctly, that we will score 27.6 points or less every game.

I think a 6-6 record is a little ridiculous...lets be honest...new coach does not always equal mediocrity and I understand that it can go the other way however... Clawson has added an element to the falcons offense that hasn't been utilized in years past...this will create a guessing game for teams that are studying film from seasons past. 9-3...Boise st. will finally lose to us...Troy will be close...we can spank Marshall if we get off to a good start and we have a chance to beat a Missou team that is worse than any of the years we have played them in the past.

Nevermind...I'm slightly retarded, although it is tough to find a link when the link text looks the same as regular text...GRANT...FIX THAT! please. :D

I think you're right, which goes against the preceding context. That is the biggest train wreck of a sentence I've seen in a long time.

6-6 wouldn't really surprise me. Transitional years are often marked by mediocrity, at best.

I think that's the correct way of reading the words, but I got the vibe that whomever wrote it meant it the other way around.

Finally being rid of Gregg Brandon should be worth 2-3 additional wins. Unfortunately the massive loss of defensive starters might be worth a couple losses. The offensive side of the ball has more experience, and they're learning a COMPLETELY different system...that might be worth a couple losses as well.

I expect to see the team right around where they were last year, maybe a game or two in either direction. But I also expect to finally see signs that we have a true head coach at the helm for the first time since '02.

I am in no way claiming to have any inside info, but I thought I heard/read somewhere that Coach Clawson planned to do kind of a mixed system, implementing some of his own stuff while also leaving some of the stuff from Brandon's system that worked, so the players would still have some base that they already know, thereby making the learning curve a little bit smaller than if he flat out wiped the boards clean and had the players learn an entire new system.

I read that as well, but I still expect the offense to struggle with the learning curve. Also it remains to be seen how well the elements of Brandon's offense will mesh with what Clawson wants to do. It'll be interesting for sure.
