How is the city of Perrysburg? I'm coming up for the game and going to the zoo and some other stuff with my kids. Is Perrysburg right off the interstate an ok area? Thanks

You can't go wrong in P-burg. It is right on the interstate, there are plenty of hotels, and it is just about half way between Toledo and BG. You may still be able to find a hotel room in Bowling Green, but if you are looking for something that will put you closer to Toledo, Perrysburg is probably the best option. I hope you enjoy your time in the area, and you should definitely come tailgate with us.

That is a great area to stay with plenty of places to eat and stay etc. I would recommend the Holiday Inn French Quarter if you are coming with kids, as it has an indoor/outdoor pool, game room and lots to do for kids and is a very nice property, and only about 15 minutes from stadium and right off of I-75.

Yeah, P-burg is Toledo's second snootiest suburb, after Ottawa Hills which really isn't a suburb since its surrounded by Toledo. I concur with the French Quarter-its getting a littlelong in the tooth but has been maintained well and there are fun things for the kids.

The wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the new Super 8 in P-burg. Clean and quiet with a very nice staff. No pool, but there's are a couple water features in the lobby.
If you want a great breakfast, go to Charlies at the interchange of 475 and 25.
If you have the time, take in the zoo - a personal favorite of mine. Follow that up with a trip to Tony Pacos. Get an original and a chili sundae. Trust me.
In BG, if you want pizza, Myles is a favorite. If you want good food go to Soft Rock - I mean Easy Street Cafe. The downtown area of BG is on the national historic register. Great place with good food and drink.
Have fun.
The above is purely the opinion of the author and is no way endorsed by Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com, it's owner. Nor does it convey the common opinion of BGSU fans.

If you're in Bowling Green for a bit, you gotta take in some Polleyeyes. Awesome stuffed breadsticks - our legendary college food up here. Just don't wear Troy gear there.

You can't go wrong staying in Perrysburg. If you are still looking for a hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons is a great place to stay. Levis Commons is an outdoor shopping area, that has a lot of eating options.

And I believe that is where the BG football team stays the night before games.

I don't know how big the tailgate will be for a midweek game, but we like to pride ourselves on being a pretty friendly tailgate atmosphere. Get there early and say hi!

I would say we are the friendliest tailgate group I've ever seen. We're always pretty accommodating to all opposing fans, even our rivals'. We're always willing to talk football and share a beer (and brat) with anyone.
Unfortunately TG is probably right, I'm not sure how much of our usual group will be out there before this game. I know personally, I won't be able to get out there until 5:30 or so, so it won't be a full tailgate for me

I might not make it until 2 or 3.
A beverage or two, meander over to the Stroh groundbreaking, then back for a couple more pops before the game... ahhhh, football!
For being a "big time" school, Wisconsin had some damn friendly tailgaters, at least among the "older" set. But I'd say we rival that pretty well, no doubt. Probably *too* well... I often have too little time to wander around to the various groups of friends tailgating!
Those of you from Troy that are making a stay of it can probably find a couple "tour guides" for around BG, especially the dining!

I've never really seen a tailgating scene like what we have. Being that close to the stadium, keg parties, beer pong, hospitality, laissez-faire police force, etc. I'll be missing most of the games this year thanks to some recent BS thanks to work, but I'm looking forward to the Boise game.
