MAC Green Shoots

Post by Father Brown »

I continue to enjoy the incremental gains of the MAC Conference. While certainly not a torrent, it has been steady. In watching the Browns vs. Lions game, I was struck that the most skilled and best played positions were all held by MAC alum.

(1) Zastudil (K - Browns) who is considered the best bad weather punter in the NFL and one of the best at nailing the <20 yrd zone = Ohio

(2) Cribbs (PR/WR - Browns) who is considered the second best if not the best return man and growing as a WR playmaker = Kent State

(3) Louis Delmas (S - Lions) who has impressed the coaching staff and can lay people out = Western Michigan

And the story is the same across many a NFL roster as some the brightest stars are now coming from our conference. Julian Edelman was another draft pick for Kent in the Patriots game I was watching that clearly will be an impact player in the future. Only good programs with effective recruiting and coaching can make this happen. The more Sunday pub we get, the better it will be for our Saturdays.

I think Cribbs has solidified himself as the best Kick and Punt returner, as Devin Hester will not be doing return duties this year. Always thought Cribbs was better anyways.
