Marshall Game
I know this is a few weeks early but I was wondering if anyone is planning to go to the Marshall game. If so, how are you getting your tickets?
Re: Marshall Game
I think you can get in if you trade them three chickens and a goat.Falcon Frenzy wrote:I know this is a few weeks early but I was wondering if anyone is planning to go to the Marshall game. If so, how are you getting your tickets?

Unfortunately due to my schedule the Marshall game is the only away game I can go to. I have driven past the stadium before but have never seen a game there.
Re: Marshall Game
If you can't get them through the BG ticket office, you can get them through the Marshall ticket office.Falcon Frenzy wrote:I know this is a few weeks early but I was wondering if anyone is planning to go to the Marshall game. If so, how are you getting your tickets?

Re: Marshall Game
There are several other events planned for that weekend to coincide with the game.
Friday afternoon is the 1st Annual Johnathan Goddard Memorial Golf Tournament. Here is the contact info if any of you would like to play for a good cause. He was one of the best defensive ends in the history of the MAC. He was an All-American and totaled 16 sacks as a senior. He was killed in a motorcycle accident last summer.

Friday night there is a concert on the West Lot of Joan C Edwards Stadium. It is a tribute to another Herd great, basketball coach Rick Huckabay. He too will have a scholarship endowed in his name. His son will be the headliner.

Saturday from 11am until 6pm, Huntington's annual Chillifest kicks off downtown on 3rd avenue in front of Pullman Square.

Saturday night, of course, is the football game. It's band night at the stadium. High school bands from the area will join the Marching Thunder to perform at halftime.
I would suggest the Holiday Inn or Pullman Plaza Hotel. They are the only hotels downtown. The others are located a few miles from Huntington and the stadium. At Pullman Square, Pauly Shore will be at the Funnybone friday and saturday nights. There are several restaurants at Pullman and the Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe is located across 3rd avenue on 9th street. I don't think it was open the last time we played. Definitely try it out... nice bar and great food.

Re: Marshall Game
Wow, I hadn't heard that sad news about Goddard. He was certainly a beast in the MAC.

He was a fan favorite. So much so that Herdnation.com set out to take donations online to help pay a couple thousand dollars towards his final expenses.Dayons_Den wrote:Wow, I hadn't heard that sad news about Goddard. He was certainly a beast in the MAC.
The donations that came in from Herdfans and fans across the rivals network ended up covering the entire $13,000 bill.

Re: Marshall Game
Been down to Huntington a couple times...1999 and 2001. Nice stadium and the folks were pretty cordial.
We were gonna go but Josh has a game that day at 3. I'm thinking it may be on the ESPN Gameplan...it seems if you're willing to pay, and I am, you can order the game most times.
Enjoy the trip and, more importantly, bring back a BG win.
